Running Away To Assisted Living..... posted 5/31/2010 11:52:47 PM | 1 kudo what's this?     report abuse   casuallylooking Every since my daughter was in about the fifth grade she has always teased me about putting me in a nursing home when I get older. She told me a couple years ago that she finally had it all picked out. Umm, all this time I really thought she was just kidding... Since I like cars so well it is right beside a main highway....now who in their right minds put a nursing home there ..... so I can watch them go by. She says that when she goes by she'll honk at me so I'll know she's thinking of me and loves me. Sure sounds like it huh?? And since I don't watch much tv and my mind will probably being going anyway she'll make sure that I have my very own tv. A 13" black and white without a remote as to be sure I get some exercise when I want the channels or the volume changed. As for my favorite pj's she wouldn't want me to ruin them so she will inform the staff that I go pee quite often and maybe I should have the help of diapers.. So I have decided to run away from home and go for assisted living this weekend. As soon as I get to my new home my Griz will be able to always assist me instead of my Bob.........Or maybe both sometimes. Yeap, I can live with that kind of assisting.... No diapers, no 13" tv, better food..... although I'll most likely just sleep without my favorite pj's so nothing happens to them.......oh wait, who's going to change my sheets and fluff my pillows for me? I have a psychiatric nursing background as well as mental health case management and four years of child treatment and proctor care here in Oregon. We are located at 1323 Lithia Way, Talent, OR 97540. We do not just maintain clients - there are plenty of places for that, we specialize in independence training and coordinating services to that end. I took ultimate care and six months to find the ideal location with Trans-Link and / Valley Lift Services, very open single floor accommodations in a beautiful semi-secluded neighborhood of 1-6 year old homes. My entertaining house manager is a Great Italian cook. Currently we have a private room open as well as a huge shared master with walk in closet, 5 foot shower, individual sinks and a sliding glass door to the patio. Any Behavioral Health clients must be approved for safety by DD Services. Board and Care - Laundry, meals, snacks, transportation to medical appointments, medication services, rehab. coordination, advocacy, other services as provided in ISP. Medicare base rate $523.70 + service payment.

	One time when my children were together my daughter said that I would live with her until I got to the point I had to wear depends and than she was putting me into a nursing home. I turned to my son and said ............You would let me live with you wouldn't you.............he looked at me a second and than turned to his sister and said You know there are some really nice nursing homes in this area............. Got to love your children.................but they dont necessarily have to love you.....................
