Yesterday, cold, rainy. YUK. Today, sun is out, it's warmer, and I even hung out in the backyard for a bit with the dogs. Have not heard the furnace kick on once today. (could be because I turned it off last night..got tired of hearing my money burning up. )

Been a really nice day today....glad to have had it because I have to work this weekend. Got a sneak peek at next weeks schedule when I was working yesterday and looks like I'll be getting more days to work.

And now off to a whole different topic...something that has been on my mind since yesterday. I was over on the vanilla site, and there was blog about how there are plans to build a mosque near the site of the 9/11 attacks. It's not directly on Ground Zero, but a couple of blocks away. Families of victims have spoken out against this mosque. Myself, personally, I do not think it's a good idea to build it so close to Ground Zero, simply because of the raw emotions of families of victims, and, those who were there and witnessed the events up close. Anyway, I basically answered on that blog that it was insensitive to the families of the victims to build a mosque in that area...and ended up being called a "Christian" (not bad really...just don't affiliate myself with any particular religion), but, what really got me..was being called a bigot. WTF? And this person went on to call me a "right wing extremist". To me it had nothing to do with religion and everything to do with how the families of the victims would feel and the people who were there to see it "live as it happened"...I was thinking how it would make them feel. And, judging by comments I was reading regarding the article.....to go ahead and build that mosque is asking for trouble. Emotions are raw, and while I know that not all Muslims are extremists....I also know that when raw emotion gets involved...people don't see that....they see a replay of the attacks, the towers falling, people dying, and they let that cloud their judgment, hence...innocent people attending that mosque might end up being targeted for "revenge".

I really hope that those who want to build this mosque take this into consideration and maybe think of a different location for it.
