I would say that the "golden rule" is one that I try to live by.
Another one is that time heals all wounds.
Another one I like is no matter how bad you think you may have it in life, there is always someone worse off than you.
And if you don't have your health, you don't have anything.

Okay, seriously...
The farther you are willing to go, the shorter the distance you must travel.
If the grass is greener on the other side of the fence, you aren't watering your own lawn.
The best way to address most of your personal problems is to look in the mirror to see where the problem lies.
