For those of you who have been watching Celebrity Aprrentice this season, I thought that I would share this with you.
LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Two weeks removed from an emergency appendectomy, Bret Michaels was rushed to the hospital on Thursday night where it was discovered the rocker had suffered a massive brain hemorrhage, a rep for the rocker confirmed to Access Hollywood.
The 47-year-old "Rock of Love" and "Celebrity Apprentice" reality star is currently listed in critical condition.
"After several CAT scans, MRIs and an angiogram, [doctors] decided to keep Michaels in the ICU and are running several tests to determine the cause. [It] will be touch and go for the next few days while he is under intense observation," a source close to the situation told People.
In addition, Bret's rep told Access, "We will have no additional information until further testing is done.
Earlier this week, Bret hit up his blog with a light-hearted and encouraging update on his recovery, following his appendectomy on April 12 in San Antonio, Texas.
"I've been spending my time in the hospital watching 'Modern Family.' It is the best new comedy out there," he wrote on his personal blog on April 17. "And yes there are hot nurses taking care of me, in case you were curious. I mean, come on, every man has the nurse fantasy don't they?"
While he was in good spirits, Bret also revealed just how serious his condition was before the surgery.
"I have played concerts with broken bones, extremely low blood sugars, the flu, colds, and all kinds of things before. I tend to try to perform at all costs. But, I knew I was really sick this time when I started throwing up that morning and didn't stop all day. I just didn't realize how bad it was," he continued. "After the [surgery], they told me that if I had gone onstage like I wanted to, it likely would have ruptured and I could have died. Not good."

Unfortunately, one does not recover easily, completely, or well from a massive stroke. Unassisted respiration, let alone consciousness, are near miracles after such an event.
One only needs to remember Dick Clark's apparent perpetual youth and compare it to his condition today to be painfully reminded of the devastation and permanence of even a minor cerebral event.
If you were a Poison fan, pull out an old disc and remember Michaels and his band fondly. The poor guy has a long and difficult struggle agead of him...
