"Hooters" (...the restaurant!)

Went to a "Hooters" restaurant last night to meet some friends in South Central Pennsylvania (over the years, I forgot that "Hooters" even existed, much less one in my back yard!).
Food was good, as I remember it always was and the staff is trained to be polite and even flirt a little.
So...when a little (pun intended) gal flirted a little more than normal, it just felt "weird", I mean REALLY weird! This gal was all of 20 IF that! (HELL, my daughter in college is 19!)
Anyways, we (my friend and his wife and her sister) gently let on that she was a bit overdoing it and the service could be better and the talk could be less, you would have thought we put a handgrenade down her shorts! Now if the flirting was friendly, no problem, but, the target of this lil' gal was my friend's wife and she was clearly uncomfortable. As the night progressed, we discussed our "choice" of eateries and that we should "expect" that type of "service" here....Hmmmmm, BULLSHYT is what we concluded! She's 20, we're older, NOT interested and hungry for "FOOD"! Point and message should have been taken without us having to "calm" her advances!
(Must admit, the atmosphere and eyecandy was a pleasant change and brought back memories of when I used to frequent that place in south Florida, but age has calmed the thirst for the younger female!)

DAMN --- those wings were GOOD --- remember them more than da HOOTERS!!!

I need HELP!

It's kind of like some saying that we should expect to have to deal with idiots because we're on this site. There is no excuse for lack of manners.

What sort of help would you like, dear?

Sometimes us younger girls like older men ;-)

We have something called the Honeybar over here where the bar staff go topless after 9pm. Never been in one yet but there is still time!

Not a problem with younger liking older ktyg33, just some don't get the hint when it's offered.........
Some older are flattered and it stops there....some don't stop! Just finding the correct ones is all.......IF you like OLDER, go for it hun.......make sure he/she wants it that way!

You know, Even a woman of 20 can get a message across to someone (Male or Female) they are interested without going overboard causing discomfort! Tell me an attractive young woman in a tight T-shirt and a wink or certain smile wouldn't make the communication possible? You'd have to be pretty inexperienced or brain dead! It's what you do with that message that counts! I wish a younger woman (not 20) would make a suggestive statement to me sometime! I would probably short out or overload a brain circuit wondering if she wasn't just being overly polite and cute or "Damn! Did she mean it?"

I also felt uncomfortable with the local Hooter’s staff flirting too much. Our waitress acted like we were all good buddies and even sat down with us to take the food order.

Eye candy, or not, I don’t have any interest in going back.

Well, I've never been to a Hooter's (truth I swear!) so I have no idea what the level of flirtiness is over there. But to be fair try putting yourself in the waitress' shoes. First of all she's young (and probably inexperienced at the job), secondly she has to serve a diverse range of customers with a variety of expectations concerning flirtiness and thirdly she has probably been "trained" with certained canned techniques of service and the management may be watching her closely for compliance as proof of her doing her job. It's easy to to sit there at look at things with a critical eye, as most customers are wont to do. But I think if I were in her position I would at least have some difficulty keeping up a flirty performance while trying to read customers' level of comfort while taking an order while worrying about being assessed. So I think it's a good idea to remember to be a little more sympathetic and understanding to those who work in the customer service line; I don't think it's an easy job at all.

bentan ... I agree with it being a difficult job(s) in the "service industry" ... and I applaud all who do that job! (As a bachelor that eats out OFTEN!)

The real issue was her reaction to our well-worded "NO thank-you". Turning down the "heat" and continuing to be friendly would have been super. We would not have had an issue with her company --- it was her definate advances towards a lady that wasn't interested that sunk her with additional compassion. Accepting our kind words and realizing her interest was not returned was all we asked for. We didn't receive that and thus --- the problem --- NO means NO as I was always taught!
