Today, while in a laundromat I overheard a small child and his mother talking:
M: What are you drawing?
C: A spider.
M: What's it doing?
C: It's attacking you.
M: What if the spider hurts me and I have to go to the doctor?
C: Attacks don't hurt.
Of course speculation could be made about this and how it originated, but it's the same problem as the spitter.
As a society, we are quickly outstripping our ethical development. It bears little consequence to us, and we are left with a remnant of humanity that is incapable of making moral choices, and is only able to make the most base of aesthetic decisions.
