Why Are Some Pedestrians So F****** Stupid?!

What is it with pedestrians now days?! It's like their brains have left their bodies and they have some sort of death wish. Maybe they're dreaming of a really big insurance check? Who knows, but I really cannot believe some of the dumbass moves I've witnessed this week alone in and around my local neighborhood.

I thought I would share some of these idiotic scenarios with you.

- Let's have a conversation on our cell phone...and then stop in the middle of the crosswalk at a really interesting point in the conversation.

- Or let’s walk backwards so we're facing our friend as they're walking forwards through the crosswalk.

- Or let’s cut through 3 lanes of oncoming traffic...to connect with the crosswalk at the halfway point. It's quicker right?

- Or let’s read a book while walking across the street.

- Or let’s actually walk slower in the crosswalk...and then speed up once we've reached the other side.

Whatever happened to keeping your eye on the street and walking quickly to the other side? When did motorists and pedestrians become enemies?

Agreed, DS. As a bicycle rider I often have similar complaints about car drivers who are just as stupid.

I don't think it's car drivers or pedestrians or any other sort of group. It's just self-centered people with a disdain for society and a low IQ.

I have definitely noticed that those who do this or jaywalk tend to be certain types of people.

I just watch and laugh. I mean really??? What are ya going to do about it. Like I have always said...anyone can have a baby, it's how you teach that child to be a success that is the issue...and as we have all seen, it doesn't happen allot....well the birthing does. but the teaching part doesn't...

DS: Whether they are stupid people who just happen to be walking or not...at that moment in time...they are pedestrians...and stupid pedestrians at that.

Straddle: Ohio CANNOT be worse than the Vancouver area...it just can't be.

This ^^^ statement ^^^ is spot on IMO. I also agree with you on your other point...there are definitely a lot of stupid drivers on the road today.

ynot: I agree...I'm sure a lot of these pedestrians are poor drivers as well. That's a scary thought isn't it?!

ThePurpleProphet: I walk too...but like me...I'm sure you don't pull some of the stunts I saw this week.

WoW: Yes...they certainly are certain types of people...stupid types. I noticed that a lot of them also tended to be younger...maybe under the age of 25. Kind of makes you wonder doesn't it?

1bunny629: Yes...I agree. After what I saw this week...the teaching part of crossing the street did not happen with these idiots. IMO...they're all lucky to be alive.

I don't usually do "rant-like" blogs...but I guess that's what this blog turned into. Thanks for indulging me...and for commenting.
