So cute posted 4/1/2010 7:58:28 AM | 0 kudos what's this?     report abuse   sugarnspice005 Yesterday I was out in the backyard cleaning up the winter yuk from the backyard. Well, while stepping onto my deck to go in the house, I just happened to glance at an old planter that is hanging by the patio door. It has peat in it...and I was actually thinking of throwing it away this year as nothing has ever grown in it. It's been there since I bought the house, and, well, I just never really gave it any thought. Well, someone has given it some thought. A mourning dove. She's claimed it as her nest. She just chills out in her nest..watches me and the dogs. So, I guess I'm going to leave that old planter hanging right where it is. It's going to be another beautiful day today. Sunny, low 80's, I can get out in the backyard and do some more work cause those dogs have been busy over the winter. 	Do you think she might want a mouse to nest with!??!? They could watch those doggies all day long!! lol Enjoy that warm weather.... too bad you'll be out there cleaning up doggie doo You could always use it in a compost pile! Great fertilizer, if they are eating dog food alone... not human food though...

	Morning doves are suppose to be a sign of good luck...........maybe things are going to get really good for you now.............tho I dont think I would be heading to the casino just cause a dove moved in.............. but its truly cool that she moved in maybe you will get to see her hatch out a family..........one of the true miracles of nature.

	Great fertilizer, if they are eating dog food alone... not human food though Their diet is mainly dog food. About the only human food they get is a bite I might toss to them when I have dinner and that's about it. I don't give them table scraps, their vet has told me that's not good for them. Morning doves are suppose to be a sign of good luck...........maybe things are going to get really good for you now.............tho I dont think I would be heading to the casino just cause a dove moved in. Sign of good luck Maybe it's time to send in that Publishers Clearing House entry form? Yeah, it's right there by my window..all I have to do is look out, and she's right there. Could almost reach out to pet her, but I have a strong feeling she would fly off if I tried that. I'm looking forward to watching her take care of her babies if she stays there long enough. It would be so nice to see.

	I have a hanging pot outside my bedroom window that mourning doves nest in every year for the last twenty. There are more mourning doves in Dallas County than any other county in the state.

	I just got through cutting my back yard a bit ago. A very nice day here. It's sunny with no cloud in the sky. Tomorrow of more of the same with the high about 85 degrees.
