Call me a bit old fashioned…but I LOVE board games. When I was growing up, my mom used to make a habit of playing board games with me and my brother on Sunday afternoons. To this day, those Sunday afternoons are some of my fondest childhood memories. We would play a variety of games…some I hated (Risk) and some I loved (Yahtzee)…but one thing is for sure…I always played to win…and I always had lots of fun.

So Pervia…what’s your favorite board game?

I’ve attached a board game link below just in case you need a little help remembering some of those fun board games.

Board Games

Me? My favorite board games would include Yahtzee, Battleship (I loved playing this one with my son) and any type of trivia game.

I also LOVE card games…but that’s a whole other blog.

Bonus Question: What board game have you played the most?

Me? It would probably be a tie between Candy Land (What can I say? I hang out with a LOT of Preschoolers!) and Yahtzee.

Your turn…

Oh man, I love Risk. I can't believe you hate that board game.

I would say that I played Risk the most. I haven't played it in a while however...

I was an only child so I did not play a lot of board games at home, but at my grandmother's house on Sunday afternoon I would play Monopoly and Life with my older cousins. I just loved beating them at anything.

I used to love playing Sorry! And, we used to have Friday game night, and the family would play Monopoly. Sorry! was always my favorite though.

Straddle: What can I say? Risk was never one of my favorites. My brother liked it though...he liked it a lot.

RJ: I played a lot of Monopoly with my brother...but he was such a cheater. He used to steal the $500 bills when no one was looking. Eventually...they would all be gone and my mom and I would be wondering where they had all "disappeared" to. Of course...the lil' sneak had them tucked under his side of the game board...or at the bottom of his stack of $1 bills.

Sugar: I loved Sorry and played this game a lot as well. It was always fun to send someone's game piece back home. *evil laugh*

Okay...sorry, but I gotta show off my oddball/geek nature here.

There's Kingmaker the game of the English Civil War.

Or how about Midway which is like Battleship on steroids.

For just plain head crackin' fun there's Zombies!!!.

Or if you're really in supergeek mode then Star Fleet Battles fits the bill.

But if you want to get even geekier than that...you have to go with my all-time favorites here and here ...Best when playing the "shots" or "strip" versions!

My favorite would be scrabble. As a family we played a lot of yahtzee when my daughter was growing up and that would be the one that I have played the most. I still play it quite a bit on my computer but I don't consider it a board game as there is not a board. Do you consider backgammon a board game?

When I was a kid there were three big ones we all played; Monopoly, Risk, and Stratego.

Oh yeah!! Backgammon is another favorite of mine! I don't know anyone who knows how to play though... I guess I need to teach someone... I have a backgammon board that is just collecting dust. I do play it online often though!

And I love Yahtzee.. I think as of the last time I checked, I had THE highest score over on the SR site

I can't believe WAHOO wasn't mentioned. I use to play it for hours with my mom as a kid. I thought it was much better than the game Sorry.

I like any trivia game.........we have several including one that is trivia on Star Wars and one on the show Cheers. I like pictionary and scrabble, and upword. We have a couple games that deal with music trivia that I enjoy but really suck at, my daughter kicks my ass everytime. I love playing cribbage but that is a card game not a board game, but cribbage Euchre and 500 (which is like Euchre are favorites of mine.

When my cousin and me were young we played monopoly all the time. We would start a game and played until we got tired. Leave the game set up and start again on the same game the next day. When my daughter was little I played Candy Land, Shoots and Ladders. I don't play board games anymore. My daughter loves them and I won't play with her. When her friend's come over they play.

I know Cribbage is not a board game but that is my favorite card game. I like playing games on a certain website.

^^^^^^^^

I've always played Cribbage with the board so I do consider it a board game, although I have played it without the board a couple of times.
