Could you get rid of your Pets for a Person? Nope. Whenever I've meet someone, I tell them upfront I have 5 dogs and I will NOT part with them.

So your 5 dogs..and my 2 dogs..are gonna live where? That's the point I was going to make. If the living situation is OK for combining pets, then there's no reason not to. But if you both have 3 cats and you're moving into a 1 bedroom apartment that could be an issue.
How someone treats their pets, and how they react to yours, is a huge indicator of the kind of person they are. If they are no good at respecting animals, what makes anyone think they will be better at respecting humans?

It would depend on why the dogs needed to go. If they had severe allergies and the dogs would make them sick, maybe. But just because they did not like them, no. I have fish so who is going to complain about seven aquariums?

And I have already had the experience of renting an apartment..this at a time when I had no pets. I much prefer having my own home. I learned apartment life isn't for me.

That's my point exactly, sugar. Plus there's the issue of whether or not the pets have personality clashes. The list could go on and on.
But working out how you're going to live together is a vital part of ANY relationship like that. If you just think you're going to dump a jigsaw puzzle out of the box and the pieces are going to fall into place you're delusional.

If you just think you're going to dump a jigsaw puzzle out of the box and the pieces are going to fall into place you're delusional. Like I said earlier, I always tell a person I have the dogs...and I also tell people I will not part with them. That is me..my life. My choice. And I have never been under the "delusion" of "dumping a jigsaw puzzle out of the box and the pieces falling into place."

Damned good question! Greenie for you.
My dynamic duo adore their daddy. They don't like other animals...tough fit if integrating. (yeah, I am dodging and weaving on this question!!!)
I know how my dogs feel and know that a potential lady's dogs may feel the same way. They are used to being the main squeeze. "Animal assimilation" is tricky, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, just like kids.
But enough dancing on my part. I'll be damned if my dogs go to the pound!! They won't adjust to anywhere else, but consider the breed. If you have lab. or retriever, they can readily adapt.
But extending this out, I would not consider this situation to begin with. I am not into fast food romance. If we feel that we have potential, one of us relocates to the other's area, and gets their own place. Walk, don't run: no move in; lock, stock and barrel. Yeah, a different POV.

No, I don't believe I would. When you're falling in love with that special someone, it's always wise to make sure you know where they stand with animals.

Personally when I am in the getting to know someone stage I would not want to live with them 24/7. I often said that couples would get along better if their house was a duplex so they were not all up under each other all the time. I don't care how much you love someone there are going to be times you just want to get away from them. I also think that seperate living arrangements also take the pressure off by not be thinking all the time what am I going to do if this does not work out or how am I going to get this person out of my house if it does not work.

No. If a person cannot accept my pets, I cannot accept that person into my life because my pets are a big part of my life and they are part of the family.
