I watched the movie 2012 the other night. If you haven't seen it, its a pretty decent movie.........the typical movie of a man trying to save his family because the world as we know it, is ending. Of course you have the Govt. officials who have figured out how to save themselves so that they can be pioneers on the new world and will be able to procreate and start a new civilization.

I don't know about you but if thats what is going to go forth and multiply..........I don't want any part of the new world.

I was thinking however, and you know that is usually not a good thing for me to do, but what if its true? What if on Dec 21st 2012 the world ends as we know it. Have we done everything we wanted to do, have we loved as strong as we wanted, have we become what we were meant to be?

I of course have not done all that I have wanted to do. If the world ended today I would have 3 unfinished books. I would not be the doctor I had hoped to be, and settled on being a paramedic. Perhaps it wasn't a settling, perhaps thats all I was meant to be. The sad fact is, however, even knowing there is the possibility of the world ending in less than 2 years, I am not sure I will finish those books.

I think about the fact that in that short time, I would not see my grandchildren grow. They would never get to experience first love, the first time behind the wheel, they would never know what I already know.......our time on earth is short and we should work harder and love stronger because we never know when it will end.

I am by nature a conspiracy theorists, I see conspiracies in many things. I do think its a possibility that Monica Lewinski was recruited by the republicans to discredit Bill Clinton. I do think its a possibility that Bin laden recruited Obama to crush America. I do believe that our own Govt. could be behind 9/11 so they could push thru the patriot Act. Now I said its possible........not very damn probable but it is in my nature to question things even when it would probably be better not to......but if my time is short on earth should I still question things?..

I don't really hold to much belief in the possibility the world will end in 2012. Of course its a possibility but its also a possibility it could end today. I don't want to live my life worrying about my time left on earth.......chances are that I would waste so much time worrying I wouldn't get anything else done. I want to spend my time sitting on the porch in early morning, sipping a cup of coffee as the sun rises. I want to play with my grandchildren and teach them things that only a grandma can teach. I want to write when I feel like it, and sit back and read what others have written. I want to spend the days I have left, however many there are, not worrying about what I will be missing, I want to spend that time just enjoying time.

See what happens when I start thinking........

I just watched that movie as well. I thought it was a good idea of what would happen in that situation. The rich get it all and the poor died.
Personally I dont care or wanna know if the world ends. Life is short anyway and I plan on having fun till I cant anyway.

I wonder tho how many people hold the belief that the world is ending in 2012 and spend that precious time trying to figure our a way to save themselves instead of just enjoying what time they have left.

More than the world ending I question more what would happen if all of a sudden we lost technology and were set back over 500 years. How many people today would know how to survive in a world like that? I know I could because of my early upbringing. But you have people who have never seen meat outside of the freezer at the grocery store. Have never grown anything in their life. I think that would cause a disorder that would make people wish for the end of the world.

Do I think the world will end in 2012? No, the Mayan calendar is a circle that starts over again then. Do I beleive Nostradamus? Not really. He got some things right but got a whole lot of things wrong too which people overlook. And I think people take things and try to connect them to history making them into what they want to see. JMO on that.

I truly believe that this is going to be just another time everyone is going on about how the world is coming to an end when it does not. Of course something freak could happen and end life as we know it at any time, but no one can predict it.

I remember when I was about 8 or 9 y/o that the world was predicted to end
that day..To a kid, it sure looked like it..Big gray storm clouds, hotter'n hell
and the scary works..Tornado weather type..
Scared the shit outta' me..
I don't remember how many world endings I've been through and me and
the world are still around!
My point being..It's really a dumb thing to waste time worrying about..

Just like Jean Dixon............

Remember the Y2K scare................where they were afraid that all electicity and everything else was going to be cut at midnight ............ppl ran out and bought generators cause they were afraid they would have no heat..........

How many people today would know how to survive in a world like that?

But what would you do if it all went down and you were one of the survivors? What then?

I think most people know where I stand when it comes to politics in general and politicians in particular so, this is not a political statement nor am I a conspiracy theorist but one thought you have, caught my eye:

I do think its a possibility that Bin laden recruited Obama to crush America.

While I'm not so sure about Bin laden recruiting Obama per say, I do think that is what Obama's intentions are or at least do as much damage as he can, while in office! So, in that regard, I agree with you- not that the rest of what you say, I disagree with- just that that thought stood out to me!

My reasoning is all of the totally unusual circumstances (to say the least) and people surrounding Obama in the past and even now and the personnel in his administration that he has surrounded himself with, in my mind, was and still is a huge red flag and defies reasonable explanation(s) regarding his intentions! This "Vote for Change" slogan he used while campaigning, to me anyway, appears to be waning somewhat! Even some of his believers are beginning to have second thoughts about where our country is being pushed to, without regard to what is best for the citizens!

This didn't just start with Obama's administration to be fair- it's been going on for quite a while! Obama just brought it to light in a big way! I realize some might want to suggest that I should respect the man in our highest office- I respect the office for sure but I can't respect someone who appears to have little or no respect for the citizens of our country!

Didn't mean to 'high-jack' your blog there Dayna but I've had this on my mind for quite some time now and got triggered by your blog!

This comment will no doubt get posted automatically but if you choose to delete it, it's ok with me- wouldn't blame you if you did, since it is kind of !

Ohhh... yes- BTW the 2012 flick is after all, Hollywood at it's finest! Looks like a neat flick though! I will rent the DVD one day!

All of this of course, is JMO!!!

Yup ...it's one day at a time for old man Bort.

I don't have any written garuntees that I will see tomorrow. I had a close friend that was healthy as a horse but died unexpectantly of a pancreatic disorder..just out of the blue..no indication of problems..no history of alcohol or drug addiction...just up and died. Made me realize it can happen to anyone in a split second. So I'm not worried about 2012 or the end of the world. All I really have is right now and its up to me what I do with it.

It was me who masturbated on Monica's dress...couldn't help myself and Bill took the heat. I was under the desk at the time trying to get a peek at Monica's panties and nature just took it's course.

I hope you can hear this comment through your speakers cus I yelled it at the computer screen...can you hear me now?

Even the Mayans are all, "WTF is with people thinking the world will change".
It's just the way their calender goes. The one that my insurance agent sends
me every year, only has 12 months in it. I think the Mayans were just being generous.

Actually, 2012 will be a GREAT year. There will be the Obama's getting that U-haul back to Chicago, and a conservative getting 'gubbernment housing' at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

The way I look at it; if the world ends we will all be in the same boat so no sense worrying about it.

But RJ's comment about survivors and what would we do reminds me of a Kevin Costner movie that I really enjoyed yet flopped which was the Postman. Very interesting concept of survival in a not so modern world.

I'm reminded of Doctor Strangelove...

I think there's a lot of value in understanding that our time may be limited and that we should take the chances we get. But I think, on the other hand, that this can easily lead not just to worry but to not thinking all the things we have accomplished. For instance, whether or not you see your granddaughters grow, you can take comfort in knowing that you are already a loving grandmother.

Perhaps it wasn't a settling, perhaps thats all I was meant to be.

I never found much comfort in thinking about what was meant to be. I personally don't think that there is a plan. Or if there is that there's one where we can fail. I think there's always more we can do and I, for one, am happy with (most of) what I have already done.

Personally I don't want to know when the world is going to end...or even my time on it.
I just want to live while I'm alive.
Not going to spend that precious time wondering or worrying what if.............
