I was listening to the news this morning and heard there was a proposal to put Ronald Reagan's face onto the $50 bill.

It kind of excited me. A new face to our paper money? That's awesome.
Way better than looking at Grant. He's so stoned-faced. I'd love to see a happy
Reagan on the $50 bill.

Would you be for the change or not?

Hell yeah! I heard this yesterday off the radio. Instead of Reagan being on the $50, I would like to see him on the $10. Move Hamilton from the $10 to the $50.

I would be for this change. I thought Regan was a great president.

I really think that a president should be dead for a certain number of years before he goes on money. If they want to produce one of those dollar coins with a more recent president on it fine. How are you going to have Reagan on a bill before people like FDR or other presidents of the past? There have been presidents before him who did great things for the country and never got their face on money. I would say leave the money as it is for now. Grant may be stonefaced but he was also a Civil War general before he became president. I think even though I did not agree with some of his decisions that is enough to keep him right where he is.

I like the idea of having MY face being put on the $50 bill place of Ulysses S. Grant's! Then I thought....... well then, I'd have to be dead- NEVER mind!!!

IMHO, Ronnie was the greatest U.S. President of our time. He put this country first, more than ANY President since the Civil War. (Although Calvin Coolidge was pretty good.)
I'd love to see him remembered as such.

There have been efforts to get Reagan on money for years. I have never understood how Grant got on the fifty dollar bill to begin with as his presidency was tarnished by scandals and corruption. So I am all for booting him from the bill but would rather see Teddy Roosevelt on it than Reagan. Teddy Roosevelt (who was a republican by the way) is held in much higher regard by scholars and has many more accomplishments that still impact the US and the world.

I can't see doing that as having the same person on two different denominations of bills potentially a person's wallet could be too confusing.

Teddy Roosevelt

I would agree with that. I think Grant was on more for being a General than a president. Teddy Roosevelt was a better president than many before and after him.

With money, all people will treat you much better,
As you are no longer society's debtor.
Sweet smiles on you they will now bestow,
Obsequious looks in their eyes then will glow.

And women forgetting your age and your weight,
Your looks and your height and your bald, shining pate,
Will wink and remark how handsome you are
For, in their minds, you are now a star.

Oh, how pathetic society is!
A "Miss" is now where there used to be "Ms."
For quickly they learned that you've got all this dough,
And then they appear from above and below.

For freedom, for joy and enjoyment of senses,
Don't waste precious time chasing empty pretenses.
Just line up your pockets with luscious green money
And soon you'll be hugging a cute Playboy bunny.

I think Grant was on more for being a General than a president.

I agree but that leads me to submit that Eisenhower (a republican) would be a better fit on the bill than Grant due to his accomplishments as both a president and general.

Is this blog shifting more towards dumping Grant than honoring Reagan?

Clever poem night!

That being said; ladies (and especially women that aren't "ladies"), did you know that I have already made more money so far this year than all of last year? It's a fact. So if any of you are coming into the Dallas area let me know as I always enjoy having my dick sucked.

Could put him on the $100. After all, ole Ben was not a president, and he was against independence in the first place. Or better yet, move Washington to the $100, and put Ronny on the $1.

Teddy Roosevelt (who was a republican by the way)
He ran as a republican, but in fact he was a progressive. Adding progressive to either democrat or republican shifts the meaning of either word drastically. This is why in the last elections, many people voted for "democrats" blindly not realizing they were progressives that had much different ideals then they had thought.

Nothing agaisnt teddy, as he certainly wasn't the worst president, but he wasn't the "republican" that everyone thinks of when hearing the word.

I don't think they should drop Grant for Reagan, maybe they could do an alternating face on a bill like they did with the dollar coins,,,but who would decide which presidents get to be in and which get left out,,,,they could use what ever bill gets printed the most and start with Washington and work their way to the present, that way all get their face on a bill.
