Does this mean we can't just blame a terrorist for deliberately crashing planes into buildings which very well could have happened ? Surely those adults were professional enough to have a grip on it but not professional enough to know better. The pilots as well hearing that it's a child know better & they always confirm transmissions for in flight, take offs & landings as well.
What punishment should the employees & child recieve?
Termination & the child should be taught that it's not a place to be playing around like that & if he wanted to become an air traffic controller he can get proper training as he grows up.

was it father/son day at work? I find it unprofessional and am glad I wasn't on that plane. But...ya never know what is going on in the kitchen when I am getting peoples food ready for serving. Should we laugh or be concerned?

Makes a person wonder just how safe they are when they fly. Would sure like to see the results of the investigation; that is if there is really one

I don't think the kid should be punished. He was probably just doing what he was told to do cause they thought it would be cute (and it was). And they all stood around laughing about it. It is a serious matter but there were no wrong directions sent to the pilots and nothing happened so maybe just this once, they should let it slide but definitely not something that should be made a habit! It was very unprofessional like Bunny said but no harm was done, this time.
I did think it was kinda cute when I heard it though.

But I'm sure the kids father will probably be terminated, which might be a little harsh.

It was just bad judgement if you ask me

That was a very idiotic decision on the part of the parent. If they track down who it was and when it happened, don't be surprised if others in the tower, perhaps even pilots, at the time are not subject to disciplinary action for failing to report it.

Was not too long ago, that you could get your pilots license at 16 years.
I watched the news show what went on, not worried at all. I'm sure there
was PLENTY of adult supervision, and each Pilot obviously knew it was
some kind of 'take your kid to work' day.
How sad this makes such a stink, with all the REAL problems going on.

To think, the Obama administration is going to let REAL Terrorists make a
mockery of our judicial system, and probably punish this kid and his dad.....sad, sad, sad.

As for 'punishment', I say, "No harm, No foul." And give the kid some Blue Bell.

Probably wasn't a good idea, but I think they are, and will, blow it WAY up out of proportion. It's not like he snuck in and masqueraded as a real controller. An adult said, here, say this... He was never "in control".

I think a 2 week suspension would be more than enough..... but I think I heard on the radio he was already fired.
Shame.

I just saw this story on the CBS news, they said it was 2 kids 2 days in a row and the the controller and supervisor are suspended pending an FAA investigation,,,,
It was a stupid thing to do,and I agree that the punishment will probably be to harsh,as mentioned earlier, the kids were being told what to say.

OF COURSE
