I really think she shouldn't have asked you that. Even I know the answer and don't have to ask. You are going to keep looking! It will come. I will pray for you and I know many here will too. Keep up the good spirit! I am proud of you!

I'm sorry to hear about the job falling thru. But hey, guess what? When a window closes a door opens....hang in there! I have no doubt you'll find something! Your XGF should keep her questions to herself! I think sometimes friends and loved ones think they are helping us by asking the "tough" questions. Really, though, when you're in a tough situation, you're already aware of how tough it is. You just need love and encouragement! Tinnitus is an awful thing- so screw the test! Again, hang in there! I have a good feeling that something is coming your way!

Believe it or not there is a job out there for you.. We felt the same way for a long time... And then he went through a temp. Job place and got a real good job at fedex... was so happy... As with your ex... What a stupid question to ask... It is a job... with only so few out there you take what is offered... Praying for you that you will get a job...

I will keep you in my thoughts and hope the best for you. Have you thought about relocating for a job? It would give you more options.

That happened to me only with colors.. They had this book with pictures and numbers in convoluted colors and I couldn't pick out the numbers.. The doc pulled out a box of yarn and said pick out a red and a green.. He passed me Good luck!!

I meant to say earlier that I hope shit gets better for you man. I know the majority of the business world is full of pecker heads & only have the strength to use a pen & run their mouth. In the military I got a taste of the pen being mightier than the sword from a green lieutenant that I trained & got into it later with because he knew more than me all of a sudden. Well I didn't mean to stray but you hang in there. A whisper test I haven't heard of such ..... WTF !!!! On the way out the door I would have asked if they were ready for a suck test : Either a mule or a horse dick they can put their mouth on. That was bull shit that they pulled.

I got my CDL-A in december but....no one is hiring in this area because no freight is coming into the state. I even had two truckers tell me to call "their guy", gave me the number and "sorry you need twelve months experience". I know sooner or later something will give and suddenly I'll be working again, til then it's a treading water situation, trying to stay active and have a life but not spend too much money. Life goes on. I just try to do a little each day or each week in the job hunt and then do something else, can't dwell on it.

Okay, sorry to hear this, but here are some quick hits.
For a guy over 50 with a clean criminal background the fall back job is being a rent-a-cop. It pays from eight to eleven bucks an hour in Texas. But they are always hiring as it is a job few people want with a high turnover as they just take it until something better comes along.
On the CDL there are several firms that offer free CDL training including, Stevens, Schneider, and CRST. You have to sign up and commit to drive for them for six months to two years. Expect forced dispatches and seeing all 48 and Canada whether you want to or not. Also be sure and go to your local employment commission and ask about WIA to pay for your CDL training.
Once you get the CDL, there are other firms that will hire without experience, Swift and Werner come to mind. Good luck.

But they are always hiring as it is a job few people want with a high turnover as they just take it until something better comes along. I have no shame in it that's what I did & I have over five years to go before I reach 50. It sucked at first baby sitting people in a large shopping area parking lot but all the frustration of annoying people went away when I was transferred to patrol division. You are by yourself in a company vehicle & it's easy once you learn your route. The only boss you have is those cameras at each business that you hit. As long as you complete your schedule by the number of hits required at each place you are good to go. I'm told my division used to carry because of dangerous places we go then by some account they will not tell me about it was dropped. Their excuse is liability risk. Yes the pay sucks but I actually don't mind the job because I'm pretty much my own boss. In a sense it's like being self employed. It's been keeping my head above water for almost a year.
