Ya wake up in the morning and realize the house is a little on the cold side. And when you check the thermostat, it's reading 54 freakin degrees in the house when it should be reading 63. Doggone it! Wouldn't it figure, goes out at night so when I get up out of my nice toasty bed, it's COLD! At least it's still under it's parts warranty, so it only cost me $70 for the service call. I kept warm by going outside and spending 2 hours clearing out the driveway and cleaning off the van. And yep, the dogs were in the backyard having a blast. I could hear them back there romping and having a blast. So, after I got done with that, I put my shovel away, and went out in the backyard and played with the dogs. They loved it...throwing snowballs for them, or kicking up clouds of snow for them to run through. Between me and the dogs..that blanket of snow in the backyard got tore up pretty good.

Yes, I did call the guy who put the furnace in, he was out to the house 3 hours later and got it up and running. Now I'm all toasty warm and my dogs are sleeping off all of the fun we had in the backyard. I figured I wasn't going to bitch and gripe about this storm considering out in the North East they're getting hammered again. I mean, my little 11.5 is nothing compared to the 2+ feet they're going to get. So, instead of moping and complaining, I made a day of it and was out in the back with the dogs a few times playing and it felt GOOD.

So..I guess the furnace going out resulted in something good. Maybe that didnt' suck after all? Hell yeah it did! It was still damn cold getting out of a warm bed!

I think we're all just doin' our "snow thingy" .....making the best of what ole man winter has to dish out. Guess it's time for me to blog about my snow days too. I'll work on that.

Glad you and your dogs had a good time...this old 'dog' ain't shovelling out til spring.... Or next week anyway.

Weird how 54ยบ inside during winter, would seem 'balmy' outside in the spring!!!

I'm not a cold weather fan either when I'm iced or snowed in. Snow flurries are predicted around midnight for north central Texas, which may or may not manifest, but I'm prepared if need be.

I always loved playing with my dogs in the snow... Boston Terriers and English Bulldogs love to bull doze their way through it! Stay warm.

It started snowing here Friday afternoon and quit sometime Saturday night. Started again about 9:30 Tuesday morning and is still going. I have a fence in my back yard that is about chest high and the snow is within 12 inches of the top. I think we have had a little over 40 inches since Friday. I have shoveled my driveway twice and my deck and a pee/ poop place for my dog countless times. But my power is still on, I have food, toilet paper, and wine so I am not bitching. Local news is saying blizzard conditions exist with the blowing snow and to stay inside. To bad I don't have a charming female roommate

I hear ya punkin! It is ok to gripe. I am proud of you for making a day of it and working when you could easily slump and cry. I woke up a week ago Sat and it was 16 degrees here. I got in the shower and had no hot water. My water heater broke. I had to take a cold shower to get to work on time. $810.00 later, new water heater, I am broke, behind on 3 house notes now and have no choice but to keep going. Happy happy...there are others worse off.
