It all started when I mailed out a Christmas card that had a white kitten on the cover of it. I asked her how she liked the card with the kitten on it and she said that she wasn't really into animals, but still thought it was a pretty card. She then asked me through emails on here late last night if I had any cats and I told her that I did. She asked how many and I told her I had enough, too many. lol She kept wanting to know and I wouldn't answer, and then the nikename began with her calling me "Catboy". Sure, it's cute, but I'm sure it's going to get olf real fast. I finally got a chance to talk with her for the first time last night over the phone. She seems like a real nice lady and I'm glad that I know her as a friend that I met off of here. Getting back to nikenames on here, I have given nikenames to a few people on here that I consider friends that have stuck on this site. Some of the nikenames I have over the years has been Patty (My middle name is Patrick...as if calling me a female name was going to piss me off when I was 16. ), Paddycakes (what one female friend back in high school that had a thing for me called me because of my middle name. lol), Thor (the first four letters of my last name), Straddle (short for my screen name on here), and now Catboy???!!! Too cute! I would love to know from all of you what your nikenames were growing up, and even for today?

Oh yeah, I forgot one other name I had dating back to the summer of 2001. I only shared that with one person from here and I don't think I'll share it with anyone else again.

My screen name (Sundance64) is a name I picked up in the AirForce...when I worked on the flightline everyone who got an incentive ride got tagged with a "call-sign" and the pilot gave me that one. It stuck. Since coming in here...'someone' thought that was the name of my horse and didn't want me to have a horse's name...so he dubbed me Sunny-D. Again..it stuck. To this day I'm still Jean Marie to family members of my parents generation...but to most people I'm Jeanie.

I've had a few nicknames over the years, some of them are wierd ones
Skippy i got when i was in my teens, a member of my old youth group called me that and it just kinda stuck
Got the nickname Pinata Goddess when i was in my senior year of high school after creating a "Save the Pinata's" speech as a way to get money to raid the candy machines at school, I'll post the newest incarnation of the spech in a bit.
My sister has always called me Squishy cuz i'm a chubby little weirdo
Kel, and Kel-Kel are shortened versions of my first name Kelley
Satan comes from being in job corps, a jab at my religious choice (wiccan)
The Dork Queen also came from job corpse cuz everyone thought i was the biggest dork they knew
My latest nick name, Lust Bunny, just popped out from my best friend, it's her personal name for me

Don't even get me started on nicknames, I've had more than I can remember, good and bad.
Weasel - cause I was quick and light on my feet during obstical courses in scouts Catman - same reason different group of people Muscles - I was very lean and good defination thanks to Track and Feild Flounder - Not sure about this one. Got it when I was in the Army, even the guy that gave it to me didn't know why.
Then there are some I won't mention here cause the are demeaning and downright cruel. I think everybody has some of those.

I've had my share of good and bad nicknames myself... Ranging from "Erica" (to tick me off because my name is Eric) to "Speedy" because I liked to run fast in the halls at my old jr.high and still consider myself faster than anyone in a middle school or high school... lol! (zero collisions in jr. high, people!) to even others that I'd rather not dwell on at the moment. So, while it is true that slapping a letter or two on a name is a funny way to gain a new nickname, it does get old fast, especially when it reverses your gender.

I have a VERY common baby boomer era first name and a last name which lends itself well to nicknames:
stu stewie stew pot stu tot stu kid stu teen stu man stewbie (rhymes w/ doobie... um... that was back in the 70's) stoogie (when I smoked cigars)
To name a few. But only my former spouse could call me by my full name, Stu Pid.
