Pain, suffering and fault/blame are part and parcel of sensationalism which the media feeds upon it like a pack of hyenas. However, we cannot blame the media alone because the majority of the viewing public who feed upon the frenzy as well which exacerbates the issue. There is not any nobility, honor or compassion in this arena.

The tradgedy and the suffering of the people of Haiti can't be understated, nor can it be removed from the front page. Most of the coverage now seems to be Americans stranded in Haiti and the efforts of American families to bring them home as well as children who have been legally adopted and are waiting on State Department approval In Haiti for their extradiction. As an aside, the prompt relief efforts and aid from Obama is being heralded as his most significant achievement of his first year in office.
