I was very disturbed by a Facebook posting by my nephew, who is in a local band here in Louisville which read:
"ANYONE READING THIS, WITH A NEW BAND, DO NOT PLAY ANY SHOWS THAT ARE PUT ON BY GORILLA PRODUCTIONS. THEY WILL OFFER YOU ALL KINDS OF STUFF AND NEVER PAY OFF, BASICALLY TAKING ADVANTAGE OF YOUR IGNORANCE OF THEM AND USING YOU AND YOUR BAND! THEY ARE SCAMMERS AND CRIMINALS. PLEASE DO NOT GIVE THEM THE TIME OF DAY!!!"
It really sucks that a production company would take advantage of hard-working musicians!
It's just like my friends in a band in California called "Futile Attempt". They were doing well in Europe a few years ago, opening for such major acts as Alice Cooper, Rob Zombie and Testament. Then they come to America and their manager rips them off and leaves them for dead! What the fuck?!!! 
They're doing much better now though and still rockin' despite the hardships! 
It just burns my ass to no end to see good people being taken advantage of by people they're supposed to be able to trust.!
Sorry about the rant, folks, but I really had to vent!
