What song would you sing while trying out for American Idol? posted 1/3/2010 6:54:40 PM | 1 kudo what's this?     report abuse tagged: music, tv, entertainment, straddle   StraddleMyNose American Idol is coming up very soon (like in a week or two I believe), and I was thinking that the song I would sing would be something like Jack Wanger's "Lady of My Heart". It's a song that actually takes singing talent to sing. I used to sing when I was younger, but since my early years in life, I haven't really sung out in public, I only sing sometimes when I'm by myself. I had a great voice for singing when I was young, but I don't think I would ever attempt that again, because even though I have a good voice, I don't think I can sing all that great today. If I were to tryout on American Idol, that's the song I would pick. What song would you choose while trying out for American Idol, and why? 	Well assuming I could sing, which I can't I would attempt "Alone" by Ann Wilson/Heart. Love that song. Alone

	I dunno...couple years back, some lady SWORE I was the winning guy from that show, said I was incognito and wouldn't listen otherwise. Hell, I have never even seen that show, so I had NO clue who the hell she thought I was even....

	For the record, I didn't watch any of it last year. Doubt that I will this year. Maybe the first two weeks of tryouts where people get their 15 minutes of fame, and that's the best part in my opinion.

DKW: I think your "fan" was referring to either Bo Bice (Runner-up to Carrie Underwood) or Taylor Hicks. Just in case you want to impersonate them again anytime soon... The song I would sing is Remember Me This Way by Jordan Hill or I've Never Been to Paradise by Charlene. I think a lot of contestants over-do the more current songs and forget about the oldies.

	IF I had the voice, and IF I had the nerve, I'd sing "Gonna Getcha Good" by Shania Twain. I just love the beat to the song and it's sassy.

	For the record, I didn't watch any of it last year. Doubt that I will this year. Unless I am with a lady who watches it, I won't. I haven't seen it once yet and don't plan to!!

	Only if I could get my voice back from 35 years ago. Trust me, no one wants to hear my sing now. Not sure of the exact song but something by Joplin I guess or more recently Lita Ford.

	I learned the hard way I couldn't sing Love Shack by B-52's!! Maybe some Nirvana....I dunno really. I sung in choir at Catholic School. I can sing in Latin....lol I can sing really religious songs.......but I won't....lol I'd burn in hell now if I did!
