Many of us faced personal hardships of different kinds this last year, and some how survived it all. Some better than others, but still, we made it thru. Some still have a long pull to get over or past things that occurred, and get their lives back to a more normal state. One thing is certain though, nothing is ever going to be exactly as it was. The one thing we can count on is change. Be it a slow almost imperceptible one or a rapid one of some sort. Change is going to occur.

In my life there was one big change last year, and it will affect me for quite a while. But now I have to go on and live my life as best I can and do what I can to make it better than last year. I want to thank all of you that sent your condolences and well wishes when my friend died very unexpectedly. It shows how even near strangers can reach out and touch you in a positive way.

Some here have actually met one another, some will only know us as faces on a screen, or words written here. But somehow, a little bit of us winds up being part of more than a group, but more like part of an extended family. And we have all the same members any family has if you look at us like that. We have our patriarchs, matriarchs, outlaws and angels. We have our differences, we squabble, we fall in and fall out. The one thing that holds us is the deep seated need to be part of a group. We are social by nature, some more so than others. As for me, I do well just being on the outer fringe most of the time, enjoying the companionship of the group, then drifting off to pursue my life in my own way, coming back to check in and see how the rest are doing. Others stay in the middle, constantly surrounded by the other members.

So like it or not, once you came to this site, you gained more family. Which is what many didn't want, and few expected. And now, your stuck with us. But it isn't bad, you have a shoulder to cry on or just lean on when you need it, and help of one kind or another is just a few keystrokes away. All you have to do is ask.

And before I ramble too much here, my heartfelt wishes to all for a great year ahead. Now, lets get out there and make it that way.
