Do you use a fork or spoon when eating pie or cake? And what are you eating the pie and cake on, a plate, dish, or in a bowl? This whole thing got me thinking when I see people sometimes eat their piece of pie or piece of cake in a bowl with a spoon. I thought how strange that was, because that's the least type of way I would like it served that way. Now, I have to eat both my pie or cake on a dish, and sometimes maybe a plate with a fork, but to me that's normal. What about any of you, what combination do you like?
I was feeling a little silly tonight, so I went back in my blogs and decided to repost this one from Feb. 2007. Enjoy!

I eat pie or cake with a fork on a plate/dish. Only time I have used bowls is when I dish out ice cream with the cake or pie for the kids and give them that. Always ask the kids if they want a fork or spoon. Mostly, they ask for a fork unless the ice cream melts, then they want a spoon.

I eat most pie with a fork and a plate. There are two exceptions. One is a dirty joke that I'm not going to make (I just wanted to be the first to mention it) and the other is sweet potato pie, which I don't consider a pie. My mother never even put in a pie crust when she made it. And that I tend to eat with a spoon and a plate. I always eat pasta in a bowl though.

Cake sounds good right about now or maybe some apple pie. *sigh*
Cake=saucer w/fork.
Pie=saucer w/spoon or fork.
Next up should be: Do you eat your ice cream on a cone or in a bowl!
Jest messing with you Shawn

I stopped at a friend's last night. It was her granddaughter's 4th birthday. The child brought the cake to me to show me..She opened it up and started eating it with her finger's so I had to help her. No spoon, No fork..

90% of the time it's going to be a spoon...... because unless it's a cream pie, I"m going to be having ice cream with it and don't want to miss any of it.
And....... when I'm all done, I lick the bowl.
HEY..... don't want to miss a drop.... AND.... think of it as my .... ahem..... aerobics.

It makes no difference to me unless I am serving others. I just grab whateer is on hand, but believe me when I say...I never have cake or pie at my house....the serving others is only at work.

I like getting my face right in there....forks would hurt too much.....ummm, wrong kind of pie. Can't hurt to dream
Mine is always with a fork, even with ice cream (ala mode) on a plate. Depending on the pie, I also like it warmed.

Yes, it is kind of a silly question. We always served the little kids with a bowl and spoon up until the age of around six. It reduces the odds of them making a mess. Like everyone else, unless served ala mode or it is runny, it is a plate and fork.
