during the holidays, we seldom think that anything bad is going to happen to us. and for the vast majority, nothing does. but there are a few that experience the worst case possible.
such happend to the one good friend i had in this area. last night he had a massive heart attack, and is now gone for good. his family is of course pretty well devastated, and since i found out not more than 10 minutes ago, i don't feel too happy right now either. my friend was 55. not a lot younger than me, and had some other health issues.
so, take some time, think about your family and friends, and make sure they all know what they mean to you. and hope they do the same for you, before it is too late to tell them in person or over the phone.

I am so sorry for the loss of your friend SD.... I hate that his family has to go through the grieving process at this time of year especially. Christmas's will never be the same for them again. You be strong and be there for his family....sounds like he was a great friend, and you are too!!!

What you say is so true... always tell the people you care about you love them. You never know when they will be gone. We are facing a loss in our family now... there will not be much merry-making this year.
I read your latest blog... I'm so sorry you lost your friend, but I'm happy for you to have known such a wonderful person. His family will benefit from having you in their lives... especially the 12 year old girl! Peace be with you.

trying to answer all of the comments is not easy, and at this moment, all i can is thanks to everyone. we all lose a loved one or friend at one point in our lives, and need a little extra help to get thru it. sometimes we find there are more friends around than we ever imagined. and that is what is showing up here.
but you can be sure if something lights my fuse, i'll be my usual self and let my views be known in no uncertain terms.
