OK pervia I know you all have some really good and sometimes scary imaginations. My pic today is showing the cake I made for Thanksgiving dinner. Well Christmas is getting close and I am at a blank. I want to make something even better but I cant decide what. I need some cake ideas for Christmas dinner. I think the tree idea just isn't fun and challenging enough.

How about a christmas present with fancy wrapper frosting. Or even a nativity scene. You could frost cookie cutouts for the animals.

How about an open checkbook- showing a blank check and a register showing a $0.00 balance on it, after buying all your presents???

Winter Wonderland Cake, or Rudolph the Red nose Skwirl.

Or one that looks like a Holiday Ham.

I would agree with a present, raindeer, santa or a snowman, but what about a wreath, mistletoe or even something like the christmas flower, the poinsettia?

Looks like you are really creative. I like the pumpkin, so maybe since you are good at round shapes you should do an ornament!

How about Santa's house? You start out with a few sheet cakes that you cancut into the pieces you need and some buttercream icing to hold things together. You cut squares of the cake and stack withbuttercream to the size you want the basic house then chill. Then you carve the top of the house for the angle for the eves of the roof. You then take two more pieces of sheet cake and make the roof. Chill again and then decorate any way you want it. They have little candy santas and things around this time of year so you can make it as fancy or plain as you like it.
Just make sure the cake is kept chilled while you are working with it so things don't slide around.

All the suggestions are great, so I'll add this one. How about an angel? Like what is put on top of the tree?

You could make a classic Bûche de Noël (Yule Log) which is delicious made of sponge cake, butter cream and meringue mushrooms. There are many versions of this recipe, but here's a traditional one that is very good:
