And the rolling of the eyes watching the noon news and the first story they report on is all of the fender benders, spin outs, and roll overs during the morning commute to work. I don't know about the cops in other areas, but, a friend of mine has a brother who works on the police force here where I live, and he has said at the precinct there is always a bet on how many weather related accident calls there will be in the first 15 minutes of morning rush hour. Seriously, how hard can it be to follow the most basic of rules of winter driving? Slow down if the roads are covered with snow. And remember, it's going to take a little longer to stop on snow covered roads than if the pavement were dry.

We got about 4 inches of snow here yesterday, and the drive into work was like any other typical drive on the first snow fall...cars, SUV's spun out in the median on the expressway, a couple with crunched fenders..and I saw one truck on it's side. Ya know, living in a state that gets snow for 99.9% of it's winters, people who live here should know better.

If you see snow or ice on the road...slow down. May take a little longer getting to your destination, but, better late than never.

On the other hand- the vehicles bashed in and/or laying on their sides, just means fewer vehicles the other drivers have to worry about! Merely a process of elimination!

We got about 4 inches of snow here yesterday

We got our first in Oct, but the stuff that stayed happened on Tues - was 11 inches with 35 - 60 mph winds. Usually are roads are clear in less than 24 hours, but our great Governor Pawlenty insisted the DOT get rid of 55 plow drivers in both Minneapolis and St. Paul to trim the budget.

Yeah, those nuisance snowfalls always get people who don't know how to drive a good lesson in towing ...

Just because you may have an SUV with 4wd, it just means you can get stuck worse. It also doesn't matter on ice what you may be driving, you will still slide, unless of course you are driving a Zamboni.

We got another dusting of snow yesterday morning. Other than that, nothing that amounts to anything.

uh huh..... I'm beginning to see where all my snow went. I want it back I tell you!!! I'm an Alaskan dammit and not enough snow to build an igloo.

At 40Fand no wind it's downright tropical compared to the lower 48 weather.

No snow here, but MY GOD, it's cold.

Some winters we dont get any snow at all, or it we do,usually just a couple times a season....so you can imagine how we drive on snow.....yippy!

Believe it or not we are still recovering from that freak ice storm of last year.

No snow here...but cold!!

I remember the drive to work in Detroit during or after snowfall. It was usually the big shiney new 4WD Pickups and SUV's that were off the side of the road either rolled over or just slid off the road. They always have to learn the hard way; 4WD doesn't stop you on ice and snow!

Snow Sucks Its just starting snowing for the first time this year in my area. I plan on staying home for the day. I will let the first idiots get their accidents out of the way before I go out. Snow driving doesn't bother me at all but the other idiots on the road do

We've had a little snow here in Ohio, nothing to write home about. I have no problems with driving in it, done it for years as a delivery driver...lot of people just don't have any common sense to leave early when the roads are bad.
