Ladies - What are your thoughts on winks?
Seems like many girls on this site can't be bothered with them and rarely respond to them. Personally, I think it's a good tool/ice breaker for the site. I could literally spend all day on my computer composing well thought out emails to girls I'm interested in only to find out later that it was a complete waste of my time. If a wink is reciprocated, atleast I know i'm not barking up the wrong tree and that it's a situation potentially worth pursuing.
But then again, maybe girls on this site receive hundreds of winks a day, and it's very annoying. I wouldn't know....I've received about 4 winks so far and one of them was from a dude dressed like a girl. Obviously I'm no expert on the subject!

I personally like the wink option. Like you said, I think it's a good ice breaker. Since I'm not on here looking for a date, I use the wink as a tool to let others know I'm thinking of them.
For the record, I don't receive hundreds of winks a day...I receive thousands.  It's completely insane the amount of winks I receive on a daily basis.  I think I need a personal assistant just to answer all of my winks.

In all honesty, most of us don't pay attention to the winks. And, a little hint to help you along...before writing someone who catches your interest...READ their essays. Hope you have fun on the site. Blog a little, check out the forums, just jump in and have fun.

I ignore the winks. They have become annoying to me because I get to many. I rather recieve a thought out email/message from someone who actually took the time to read my full essays. Unless, they are only sending me a message to tell me to leave the site since I am not here looking for sex. That is becoming a problem it seems. * SHRUG * , Thier issue, not mine.

Wow, I've received more responses in the last 15 minutes from my blog than any wink/email i've sent out all week!...seems like blogging may be the best way to immerse yourself in the adultmatchdoctor community

Darlin', for the most part, I delete all winks, because nobody reads the essays anymore. If you send winks, read their essay first, to know if you are really interested. If yu wink because of the pic, you probably won't get an answer back.
And welcome to blogland...if you stay here, you'll get to know most of us and we always welcome a new "face"...

When I get a wink, I will go and check out the profile of the "winker" and if I see something I like i'll wink back or send a message. I think like you that they are a good icebreaker.

Now you're on to something!!! Welcome to Pervia! You might check out the forums too! Lots of people play there and you can introduce yourself quite well to the group in either place! Plus you get to know more about alot more members that way too!
Personally the winks are just a little annoyance that you learn to ignore. Nine times out of ten, the folks that wink obviously didn't read your profile! And just a little hint, most of the women here will happily tell you that the sexiest thing you can do is to read a profile BEFORE you send a message or even a wink! It shows a little more interest and proves to them that you're not just flooding a bunch of women with the same damn copy pasted email!!

This is a good question... and one I have considered lately. The result is that I changed my way of thinking about winks. Initially, I didn't like them... thought they were the lazy person's way of culling a guy or gal out of the herd. However, I now look upon virtual winks the way we used to use winking... as a FIRST indication that a man or woman is 'potentially' interested. When a man or woman winks at you in person, you are usually strangers or someone you don't know well. There isn't a profile to read... they have to get to know you directly. Thus the wink has a valid purpose.... why should it be any different in a virtual world.
It's up to the individual to respond or not respond to winks. The reasons why they wink or do not participate in them are varied. It's sort of like another question: Which came first, the chicken or the egg? It depends upon your perspective. It isn't an earth shattering issue, so I don't make anything of it with any vehemence.
