I was standing in the laundry room smoking as usual when I noticed two birds either fighting or fucking in my driveway. They were rolling around, flying up then pinning each other down on the concrete. This went on for about 30 seconds when suddenly out of nowhere a hawk (or maybe a falcon) swooped down and yanked one of the birds up into a tree. It was awesome! And it kinda made me think. When you're fighting amongst yourselves and not paying attention...someone (or something) bigger and meaner might just come out of nowhere and gobble you up! 	Nothing like nature to make you stop and think. We have falcons hanging around my neighborhood. Some of the neighbors feed the birds and of course the falcons see this as a bounty of food. One neighbor was complaining about the falcons and I could only think that if you're going to provide them the source, they're going to hang around. Sometimes nature looks more civilized than society.

	I was thinking about this last night when I got home.... not paying attention...someone (or something) bigger and meaner might just come out of nowhere and gobble you up! ...I haven't had a physical crime committed against me in a long time. I did have something stolen out of my yard in the past month or so, but as of recent nothing that caused bodily harm. Memphis is a crime ridden city and you need to be very street smart and aware of your surroundings. I have kinda been acting lackadaisical (sp?) , and I know I need to ge back in the habit of total awareness...but still...it can nab you from out of nowhere....good blog.
