I am a member of an online anti-cheat (in games) network. I watch the appeals from people trying to say they did not cheat. While I normally find this amusing I am starting to see some possible parallels to cheating in the relationship world.
The number one appeal online. "It wasn't me." This can be anything from my account was hacked and I had no access to it or "my (brother, sister, mother, father, uncle, aunt, dead grandparent, or cat) logged into my account.and cheated not me. This seems similar to the denial so popular that Shaggy made fun of it in a song.
I am starting to believe that the same personality dysfunction that causes people to cheat on online games may also cause people to cheat in relationships.
(for those not heavy into online games I am not talking about using built in cheat codes. I am talking about downloaded third party programs that hack a game. That kind of stuff is never ok.when playing with or against other people.)
