I just checked out a link to the U.S. national debt clock (I know...I have no life) and the numbers made my head spin. I found a very interesting blog which explains in layman's terms (if you can get past all the numbers) the kind of doo doo the U.S. economy is really in...yeah, like we didn't already know this.

So what are your thoughts Pervia? Do you think we will eventually find our way out of this difficult situation, or are we shit out of luck?

I worry about my own debt. And the U.S. has been in debt since I can remember. Do I feel it will get better? Eventually. Is it going to get worse before it gets better....probably. It took years, and different administrations, to get to this point. It isn't going to be solved in a matter of months, or, even 4 years. It's going to take a long time before this mess is even close to being straightened out. Of course, if our legislators would work together instead of the constant bickering, maybe something would get done. The mentality of "I'm not going to vote on your idea cause we're opposing parties", or, the behind closed doors and not allowing the opposite party in, has to stop. And both parties are notorious for these actions. Good grief...we have 3rd graders running the country. No, wait, I'm beginning to believe 3rd graders would do a better job.

The mentality of "I'm not going to vote on your idea cause we're opposing parties", or, the behind closed doors and not allowing the opposite party in, has to stop.

Which is why, in my mind, politics and politicians don't work as it is set up and why I can't stand either! Soon as someone leans one way or the other [Democrat or Republican] their opinions are biased, that's just the way it is and since each party thinks they're right and the other is wrong, nothing gets done for the citizens because the politicians don't have a clue on how to sit down and negotiate!

However this so-called 'health reform bill(s)' and our national debt turns out, it is our fault because we're letting them get away with it! 'Nuff said!

If they called it what it is the American tax payers debt then working people might pay a little more attetion and might even feel like having that drink if they can afford it after they raise taxes on everything in and out of sight to try and pay for it.
