Fall is in full swing. The colors are getting more brilliant each day. Each day I see more reds, yellows, oranges. The green is getting less and less each passing day. The mornings are crisp and refreshing. The afternoons are cool and colorful. I don't mind Fall, I actually like it. It's like Spring, a comfortable season where it's not too hot, not too cold. This year in Michigan, it's a cool Fall, every night when the local weather people do the forecast, they remind us that our daytime highs are "15 degrees below normal". Why tell us that? We already have that figured out. And, on our local channel here, our chief meteorologist is from Minnesota, the Twin Cities are his home town, and this guy LOVES Winter. I swear you can see him clapping his hands the colder it gets. The northern parts of Michigan today will be seeing their first snowfall.

Michigan in the Fall is pretty. And yes, I can't deny it, it's pretty in the Winter also. My 2 biggest gripes about Winter is shoveling snow and the heating bills. I tell myself I need to get back into enjoying the Winter like I used to, before I grew up and realized some of the headaches that come with it. I do like to go out in the backyard with the dogs and watch them play in the snow. Buddy is such a clown, he's the one that will roll in the snow, stop while on his back with all 4 paws in the air, and look at me like, "You should really try this". I usually scoop up snow, make snow balls and throw them for the dogs. They love that. Kicking the snow up in the air for them is another thing they enjoy.

Now that I'm thinking about it...Winter isn't so bad. Yet. Wait till late January, early February, I'll be griping and whining then.

It has been like Seattle here for the better part of two weeks and on into the the future. It is in the fifties and sixties, drizzling, damp and overcast. Highly unusual.

Thank God............You just keep it down there LilGriz.........we got rid of ours........and I don't want it back............

This fall has sucked..........the leaves didnt even changed colors before we had our first snow.........and there hasn't been any really nice days to go look now at them some trees.........shed all their leaves and they were still green............thats unfair.........normally i love winter..................

The other day we ran to a bigger town about 30 miles from our house because they have a fabric store which we don't here........anyway it was snowing and my daughter was whining about it and she said "If i knew it was going to snow, we wouldn't have left home." I said "WTF?? you forget we have winters here? or were you planning on hibernating thru winter...................her answer Hibernation sounds good.......

The dogwood trees are changing here and we are having cooler than normal temperatures day and night. After an extremely warm summer I love it! I am hoping it does snow this winter as I love the stuff. I get a good laugh at southerners when it comes a snow though. Two inches and they are all in a panic and there is not a loaf of bread to be found in any grocery store or a battery either. I will be happy to take any snow that anyone else does not want.
