Back in my trucker days I was eavesdropping on some CB chatter on the main channel at a truck stop. There was some young gal bantering with another fella and he retorted with "Why you young Whooper Snapper" She came back with, "Well sweetie, I've never been called a Whooper before." I think maybe she was talking with Gabby Hayes from the 50's "Hopalong Cassidy", ya think? Or maybe it's related to Yooper in some way? Maybe some Yoopers are Whoopers? 	Sounds like what you call the result of somebody sitting on a whoopie cushion to me. We had great fun with those as kids.

	I'm with Doc...I think they heard it wrong. Whipper snapper is a old word from many years ago. A 'youngun' probably wouldn't recognize it nowadays.

	That also reminds me of a story a friend of mine told me that when she worked at Burger King some guy came in and ordered a Whooper but he kept saying it like "Wooper". I'll have a Wooper with cheese!

	Sounds like what you call the result of somebody sitting on a whoopie cushion to me. We had great fun with those as kids. THAT might just add a little whooper to somebody's snapper. I believe it's a bastardization of whipper snapper.. Sounds like something that might hurt.
