I'm discovering adult sites have a variety of women posting on them. No, I don't mean blondes, brunettes, and redheads. I mean the purpose that brings them to the site.
First, there are women on them for the purpose of actually meeting partners. Imagine that! Hmmm, I thought they'd all be doing that.
Still, there are others online for very different purposes.
Second, there are the outright scammers. And they can take a number of shapes, even women masquerading as men. They spend very little time after meeting you before telling you a hardship story.
They rarely ask for money; instead, assuming you'll just be a good person and volunteer it because you've made such a great connection with them. Here's the funny part, sometimes they can't keep their story straight on who they are. A blonde pic is posted, yet all follow-up pics are of someone else.
And third, there are women making $$$ on the web and sites like this one is where they market their services. Usually eager to get over on YIM where they seem to work best.
I don't fault anyone for making a living. If selling their tits, ass, and faux fucking on a cam pays well, then go for it.
I have a problem with doing that cuz if I can't touch the woman's body, or have an expectation of doing that in the future, then I don't want to even see any of those sexy girl parts.
The funny thing for me is that they pretend to be interested in you for a while and it seems to be just a pretense to get at your credit card, for age verification purposes. Been there, done that, and believe me, they will charge you later.
I don't really even mind that if they would just be up front with it. That way, I can say no without a lot of unnecessary nonsense and wasted posturing.

My friend, I have researched this subject since first trying these sites the beginning of the year. Here are my results, nothing I am about to say is untruthful or exagerated.
70 to 80% of ALL female profiles on these sites are phonies/scammers/players/ect
Who is responsable ? Your guess is as good as mine. As for the scammers with the sob stories/ these are uneducated poverty stricken people in third world countries, who have access to the tech, through public computers in there countries. Most seek a ticket out via, money, marriage, any way they can.
The sites themselves are just cash cows for the owners, women usually join free, alls they do is help that process, so there is no loss for them there. Paid ads for other sites( imagine that) and male membership are 98% of there profit. Let's face it, they have a world market.
MY guess is ( I'm being generous) 5% of the men who join these actually get laid by a real breathing women. At best you might make some really good online friends halfway accross the world or country, who may have laid you, if...you lived down the street or accross town. Outside of that, nobody's jumping on planes and hooking up for hot weekends, or even driving to one for that matter. Then there are the info scammers, you have to watch these guys, there purpose is even more sinister, they will rob you blind, given the chance. Most of them are hispaniac and african in origin. They can ruin you overnight, with just a bit of your personel info. But NONE, i repeat NONE of these sites is a smorgasboard of pussy and thats a fact....jack!

Should a website be any different than real life? Especially for a guy that says what he intends to get as opposed to what he has to offer? That always cracks me up. The guys that complain tend to be the ones whose profile read as a list of what the woman must be. Seldom do they list what they are like or what attributes they bring to the table.

Many times, a woman has marked on her profile, friends only, LTR, or something similar. This does not always mean that she's looking for Mr. Right. Sometimes Mr. Right Now would work out.. but it does mean that she too is sick and tired of the crap email that we women get on a daily basis and is looking to make some sort of connection before she hops in the sack.
We are all here for our own reasons and over time those reasons change. I used to be here lookin for the right person.. or.. the right person for the day.. now I'm just here.. not lookin for nuttin so if I find something.. that's gravy.
Thanks for not saying that we, who aren't necessarily looking, should move along. That's a sure way to commit AMD suicide.

You left out those of us that came here years ago, (9+ for me now) looking for Mr. Right Now, Mr. Right Next Week, or Mr. Right forever. Finding none of those, we found what we were seeking somewhere else (meaning real world or another site) but along the sometimes happy, sometimes miserable journey here, we found something else. Friends. Wonderful, caring, lovely people that came to mean as much to us as family. They've seen me through my father's massive heart failure and surgeries following it. They saw me through my own cancer scare. The weeks of waiting for test results, the surgery following it. Most recently they've been there for me when I found out my son will be deployed to Afghanistan in April 2010.
We've shared our happy times, as well as our sad. We've cheered on those that found happiness. Some traveling across the country to be with the one they love. We've offered encouragment to each other when Mr/ Ms Right turned out to be so totally wrong! So while some of us have found what makes us happy, what we were seeking, we stay on. Popping in, sometimes daily, sometimes weekly. But we stay in touch, because it's not just an adult dating site, it's not just a sex site, it's a community with a loving family. And face it, sometimes there's no place like home.
