I've been dealing with a depressed friend for almost 2 months, oh sometimes she's manic. Tonite she finally admitted to having suicidal ideation (yeah she's thinking of offfing herself). I did the right thing, told her if she didn't call crisis, I would, she did, and I still called the cops to do a well check on her, yup thats gonna work, they listen real well!
OK NOW SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME SOMETHING POSITIVE AND UPBEAT! I DARE YA!!!!!!!!!!

Is she taking medication? Has she been diagnosed with Bipolar Illness. If she follows instructions from her doctor, she can lead a normal life. A lot of famous people have Bipolar Illness, so she can recovery if she does what the doctor says. That's the good news.

Today was my almost 4 year old neighbor's first day in preschool. She was soooo cute in her little purple hippy top and her tinkerbell backpack with her hairs all done up nice.. and she was soooooooo excited.. and completely and utterly exhausted by noon when she got picked up .. she slept all the way home!
Now that's upbeat!

Ok good news....
We took Mom to the eye doctor today to look at the eye that had the shingles around it. She's experiencing some occasional pain. Her eye is clear and looks good. The pain is a residual effect and should fade. Good news along with that is a warm small beanbag applied to it brings relief.
(There's one tad of bad news...my sis made the bean bag with a washcloth folded and sewed along the edges BUT...they didn't inform me that they left one end open. Yep..I picked it up and dumped most of the beans on the floor...  By the time I gathered them up back into the bag Mom's eye quit hurting...  )
Good news....both my daughters came to see their Grandma today and for a little bit she perked right up. It was good for all of us.
Good news....Several years ago I recorded a cassette tape of me playing my old Wurlitzer organ...back when I was playing for my church. I took my big boombox over and put that tape on for her and she is enjoying it with an occasional slight tapping her toes to the rhythm.
Good news....I get a couple of days now to just stay home and regroup.
And I'm proud of you for caring enough for your friend to step in when she needed it. So many people wouldn't have done that. You did a wonderfully good thing...

Good things in my life... well I'm feeling a lot better than I have for the last couple days. Good thing because I get to go spend time with my youngest grand daughter tomorrow while my daughter has a dentist appt. And if I'm still feeling okay, I'll spend time with the oldest two when they get home from school.
Good news... I have major depression. diagnosed over 20 years ago.. it is there everyday of my life, but with the proper meds I win the fight most days.
Your friend can too... And I think it is extremely loving of you to be there for her... 
Upbeat... In less than 7 weeks, I get to go see my Honey... 
Some days you can have mine She's always trying to give her to me.. Even offered to mail her. But she misses her like crazy when she goes visit for a weekend.
Feel better yet?
Grandkids are awesome!! And No, I've never tried to give mine away... But one is a teenager and one is preteen, that might change soon.......

yeah, i know like the time i called the suicide hot line, and i told them
i was gonna commit suicide. they said go ahead, we're partying dude.
then they hung up. buncha jackass college students. psychology students.
it worked though, i'm still alive, like 35 years later. i was working
at pepperdine university malibu, ca then. in the mailroom. but there
was more to the whole thing than meets the eye. so who stole the checks
destined for the maharajah of moolah???? she's feeling bad about what?
guilty conscience maybe??? i felt guilty about not marrying one of the
rich college girls who went there. i let her slip away. she'd have
me wearing tuxedos all the time. room at the top starring laurence harvey
and simone signoret. blue is fine. blue over hue.
