We went to the fair today... We had such a blast! If it didn't cost so dang much, I'd go everyday!! The sounds, the smells, THE RIDES!!!! I love it! I guess I'm just a BIG kid!! They had a ride called Techno Power... OMG! We rode that thing 12 times!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was so dizzy every time I got off it.... And I rode tons of the kiddy rides with my friends 7 year old.... mommy doesn't much like the rides but that little girl had a blast! you should have seen me on the kiddy rides... they were just as much fun as the big people rides... to see the joy on her face was priceless!! I love that kid!! Gosh I think we stayed there for 8 hours! I am absolutely exhausted and my head is STILL spinning!! I should sleep gooooooood tonight!! Definitely going back next weekend and hitting the Techno Power again and again and again!!!! We did the petting zoo too... so many baby goats!! We used to have goats over at my moms and I adored them... I had alot of bottle babies over there years but we have none now and I really miss that! I'm thinking of putting up an electric fence and getting a few goats here at my house... they eat everything! They'd definitely keep the weeds and stuff down out in the woods....
Does anyone get out and go to the fair when it comes to town? I don't think I will ever outgrow that! I think we walked 14 miles today!! It felt like it anyway!! Great excercise too!!

I'm off to bed now.... I hope you all had a great weekend!!

I love the local fair. Our's sucks..Not many rides for the big kids..I go mostly for the food. I didn't go this year. It was too damn hot for me. My daughter went with her friend. I love looking at the animal's. Also getting free stuff from the little booth's set up. I usually know someone who has a animal in 4H so I get to visit with them and the animal. I told my friend who had a goat to sell at the fair I couldn't do it. Her kids do 4H. I told her if I raised a animal I would get attached and couldn't sell it.

I am amazed at what they charge for food and drinks at the fair's..Of course I pay it.

Oh I know about the food prices! We ate before we went but it doesn't matter how full you are, once you smell the smells... you just gotta eat!! Things like that are family oriented but they certainly are NOT family affordable!! It costs an arm and a leg to go to the fair but to me... it's just worth it!!

It's hard to let an animal go once you get attached.. whatever animal it is... It was hard to let our goats go when we had them but they were getting to be too much to handle.... we had one that would run through the greenhouses and eat everything!!! That started cutting into the profits big time... lol

OMG...that ride looks like so much fun! I can see why you were so dizzy.

I love the fair too. I just went to the Vancouver fair...which was a blast; however, I really miss the OKC fair. I used to go to that fair every year when I lived there.

I think the cost is the biggest downfall too, as it seems like every fair I've every been to charges so much to ride the rides. It's insane! I don't think I could pick just one thing that I love the most about the fair because it's all so great. A couple of my favorite rides are the scrambler and the tilt-a-whirl, but I'll ride them all...and giggle like a silly school girl the whole time.

My lady friend and her family (Mostly Women and Children ) are going!
Hell, Im to broke to go this week!!!

I guess I'm just an old stick in the mud because

I really don't like them anymore!

I do remember the delicious aroma of funnel cakes
and I always liked the rides that were run by people
who looked like they dropped out of high school

to smoke dope and rob liquor stores!

I miss the fair. I haven't been in years. Ours has turned into an asshole festival.
No one wants to go there anymore.

But, I miss the rides, funnel cakes, cotton candy, lemonades, games, fun houses!

WOW!

I found that getting a smoked turkey leg was the best way to keep the food costs down. I used to work the musical Broadway play that ran through out the State Fair of Texas, the largest in the country, in Dallas. By around ten in the morning on the day before the fair opened, we would take "lunch" and not return until three. Everything was free and no crowds. You could see and do everything you wanted in those five hours. Needless to say, I haven't gone back since I left the business. I got spoiled obviously.

I missed the fair this year. No money. And I love going to the fair, even if I do get sunburned a lot of the time.

Rides I've always liked, scrambler, zipper, roller coaster, hymilian, and tilt a whirl.

The fair was here a couple weeks ago. We did the usual eat to much junk and ride to many rides and it only took me a hour at the end of the night to find my darn kid
