I wanted to write about something I love, but I don't know if I love anything enough to write about it.

I love my parents, but apparently not enough to let them know how I'm doing, ask them for help when I need it, or let them know.

I love my brothers, but apparently not enough to call them and actually find out what's going on in their lives.

I love playing soccer, but apparently not enough to do the extra running, shooting, and technical work I need to do instead of sitting on the couch playing video games.

I love writing, but apparently not enough to take any classes, respond to criticism of my work, or put in the effort whenever I get bored or hit a tough spot.

I love reading, but apparently not enough to take the time to read anything.

I love being in a relationship, but apparently not enough to ask a girl out on a date or to meet new people.

I love being smarter than other people, but apparently not enough to go to class, study hard, or get good grades.

I love America, but apparently not enough to try change any of the things I know are wrong with it.

I love myself, but apparently not enough to improve myself or my life.

You forgot sex. Can't forget sex. Well it's kind of a love-hate thing, I guess.
Some women are lousy in bed.

I think you answered your own question, and identified the real problem, with out any comments. YOU, therein lay the problem

Why don't you try "liking" yourself first? Without knowing more about you it's difficult to know why you are passive and lack motivation. However, I think you are on the right track by acknowledging the people and things you love. The next step is to become engaged with some of them and being open to where those experiences may lead you.

Don't be surprised if some perceive your post as a bit of a pity-party. It's really OK because we should take whatever route we need to help us come to awareness about an issue. It's where self-discovery begins. That said, don't make a habit of it because we're a tough crowd and only have so much empathy... LOL! Remember a sense of humor is required.

Dione said it and most important, learn to love yourself and you maybe surprised how the other things start falling into place.

I don't know, don't you love the fact that you're young and alive with your life ahead of you? That's something to love.

I think it is the typical 21 year old blues. It usually hits somewhere between 17 and 25 in kids. The cure for that is get off your butt and live your life. Put down the video game and get out in the real world and do something. I have an idea, go volunteer to help someone else. Stop feeling sorry for yourself and make a difference in someone else's life. You would be surprised how much better you will feel and how much more you will like yourself.

and once you do love yourself, you will be more grateful for all the other things you love........

Just don't 'love' yourself so much that you get blisters..that's no fun.

Naw the ladies are right.. look inside..f ind that lovable bit in you and make it the biggest part of you.
