What's your favorite shampoo that you enjoy using, and how long have you been using it? Do you use more than one? For me, I use Flex. I have been using it since 1984. I also started using Aquamarine shampoo made be Revlon that summer in 1984. I think they quit making that in 1996 since I'm no longer able to find it. Really liked that one too. Now I go back and forth with Flex (with this being my main shampoo) and pantene.

One of the worst ones that I have tried years ago was Head and Shoulders. Didn't like it because it made my head itch. Flex all the way baby!

I couldn't tell you the name of my shampoo. There is like 4 bottles of stuff in there. Half the time I just whatever shower gel is available. I guess being 1/2...okay 2/3 bald give me one less thing to think about.

Back when I a little more vain I tried Head and Shoulders also. I used it twice on my hair then once to make a big bubble bath.

You know Shawn, I am betting there are very few men that not only knows the shampoo they use now or ever did............let alone know what year their regular shampoo was quit being made...............

To be honest, I have no clue from one day to the next what I am using. I am always getting free samples of shampoo and conditioner in the mail.............................I haven't bought any shampoo in over 6 months.

I haven't used a shampoo or conditioner for about 15 years! Instead, I've been using a lotion with avocado oil and vitamin E and it smells good too! I wet my hair in the shower, massage some lotion in it, leave it set there while taking my shower! Sometimes I rinse it out, sometimes I don't! I don't believe the commercials for most any products they keep pushing!

Two years ago my husband and I met a former Hollywood make up man at a friends house. How we began talking about shampoos, I don't really know, but we did. He explained that all shampoos are basically the same things with very little variation with the exceptions of a few such as prescription an shampoos made with tar for dandruff and other problems with the scalp. There are one or two pure soap shampoos, but as far as all the shampoos sold retail in stores and beauty salons, they are the same with the minor differences.

Those differences can be nothing more than the perfume used to scent the particular product, color and/or pearly effect to change the appearance. A few may have an ingredient to make your scalp tingle when using it. Some are "refined" more than others but this only leans it was filtered more than others when first made. Some have more water than others, and some have a small percentage of conditioner in them to make your hair feel softer after using it. These are not to be confused with the all-in-one shampoo conditioner which has more conditioner and he does not recommend those. Handy as they may be. He said he liked Pantene and Suave. I've been using Pantene for some time so I haven't changed after meeting him. He said all of these have their "secret" ingredients, but they don't make much more than a penny or two of difference, but allows them to raise the price. He said shampoo costs, on average, about fifteen cents a bottle to make, not counting the bottle, marketing, distribution, etc. He did recommend using a conditioner and rinsing twice.

I use whatever smells nice at the dollar store when I shop there. As long as it gets the hair clean I could care less. I usually use lemon juice on my hair and rinse it out instead of conditioner.

There are several I am contented with including VO5, Suave, and White Rain. As long as it isn't some squirrelly scent like peach, and it isn't over a buck, I don't care with the exception of a brand called Lander, it sucks.

But but but I thought you liked our Skwirly Girl.......

Isn't it fun to take something out of context to make something out of it......

I change often. I buy suave for my daughter. I am using Treseme right now. I was told that Pantene is bad for your hair. It leaves a lot of residue in it. I love Aussie, Paul Mitchel, and one at the beauty shop I can't afford..My hair is so thick I use a leave in conditioner. I try not to blow dry it which makes it look thicker. Right now I am using Nioxin spray in leave in treatment..I got at my beauty shop the last time I got a hair cut. I love the Nioxen Shampoo but it is expensive. It has tea tree in it. It smell's so good. You can buy shampoo's that are cheaper with Tea Tree in it. Did you know that Tea Tree repells against lice? Having a child in school for a couple of years I had problems with lice. And she has hair just like mine..You can also buy Tea Tree itself..I did that and just added a cap full to a bottle of cheap shampoo.

I found this Aquamarine in the conditioner at Big Lots in the burg not too long ago.

I remember around 1982 I used Silkience shampoo. I loved it then they took it off the market. Seems I always find something I like and it goes off the market..

Don't give a damn just as long as it gets the job done. I got head & shoulders to include suave. Whatever bottle still has shampoo in it is the one I use. I don't mind using a bar of soap when in need

I haven't used shampoo for a couple of years (well except to shave, it is better than shaving cream), I however use conditioner to CLEAN my hair, and yes my hair is clean, but since I have curly hair it is dry and shampoo dries it out more. I use a baking soda and water mixture to get rid of any build up. Oh and I make sure the conditioner doesn't have a lot of silicone in it as it builds up and drags curly hair down. And the worst shampoo from when I used it? gosh all of them, they dry my hair out to much.

I like Suave, Tres Eme, or Pantene.

Not too crazy about Head and Shoulders, Aussie, or Garnier

I used to use nothing but salon shampoos, but since I can no longer afford them... ... I'm still picky about what I use. I go back and forth between Pantene, Herbal Essence and Suave every now and then.

How long have I been using them?

You know Shawn, I am betting there are very few men that not only knows the shampoo they use now or ever did............let alone know what year their regular shampoo was quit being made...............
That's pretty much what I was thinking............

This is interesting information you provided. Thanks for posting it.

well except to shave, it is better than shaving cream),
I use my flex gel to shave as well. Found that it does better than the actual shaving cream.

Does anyone remember that shampoo called Gee, Your Hair Smells Terrific!? It's no longer available, but I loved that shampoo! I would bike to the store just to buy this shampoo. Of course, I was in high school at the time and I wasn't a very picky consumer back then. I obviously choose my shampoo by smell!

I now use Redken products from the salon where I get my hair cut. I find that because my hair is long, I don't have to wash my hair everyday, and because you don't have to use a large amount of this type of shampoo, I maybe buy it twice a year....so the cost balances out when compared to the store brands. I used to buy Suave or Pantene. I hate Prell shampoo. It's the worst.

It just occurred to me that you now know more about my shampoo habits then the guy I live with. Now that's funny.
