I've got today off. Just had one helluva long weekend at work. Seemed like the "guests from hell" picked this past weekend to descend upon the hotel I work at. How people can make such huge messes in under 24 hours is amazing. I am so glad to have a day off! But, then again....with 5 dogs in the house...it's hardly quiet. Right now, one dog is barking because she heard on of the neighbors outside talking. Such a brat.

I woke up this morning, and Sasha, the momma dog to the "puppies" is on the bed...and the brat knows she's not supposed to be. And do you think she has the good grace to look ashamed at being busted? Oh no...not this one! She's wagging her tail, actually looks like she's smiling, and proceeds to try washing my face! And she is persistent too! I even try burying my face in my pillow and this crazy dog is burrowing her nose in it to get to me! Well, by this time...I'm laughing...what can I say? She's a cute dog, hard to get mad at her. Then there is her daughter, Tazz, (the one who barks a lot), she sees mama (Sasha) on the bed, me laughing, so she thinks she can hop on the bed too. Both of these dogs are roughly 40 lbs each...So, I finally decide that I'm done sleeping...with a little help from Tazz and Sasha...good thing they are cute!

I stumble out of the bedroom, thankful that, although I forgot to let my dogs out last night before going to bed, that they did NOT have any accidents. And yes, they about tore the door down on their way outside this morning. So while they are outside doing their thing, I got their food and water for the day set up, went into the bedroom, seriously thought about catching another half hour of sleep, then I heard one of them banging on the door wanting in. I swear they just KNOW when I want to catch that few minutes of shut eye and deny it to me every time.

So, after all the ruckus of the morning routine, I'm here at the computer, checking email, hanging here at AMD, and my dogs are sort of quiet. Got 2 laying on the floor by me, the other 3 thinking they are pampered pooches because they each are on a separate piece of furniture. (2 love seats, one couch).. BRATS!

Oh well...so far this day off is quiet. For now. I know my dogs, sooner or later, they are going to get bored and find ways to drive me crazy! Gotta love them!

The bed can be a problem. Mine are bigger and if they are both in a needy mood, at night they keep trying to get closer to me than the other one. It is not always so cute, particularly if I am asleep or trying to be. If I am annoyed and "settle down" (yes, they know what that means) doesn't work, then bellowing "Get the hell out of here!" will.

Enjoy your day off, Sweetie.
And if it'll make you feel any better, I'll take a half hour nap for you, okay?

Back when the kids more or less were running a zoo in our house I would wake up to three cats and a dog all trying to find a place on a twin size bed with me. The winner was usually Marmalade a 35 pound English Tabby who thought it was cute to stand on my chest and stick his face right in mine while I was sleeping. When I say zoo, I mean it 8 hamsters, 2 , three cats, 2 parakeets, 1 snapping turtle 1 rabbit and whatever baby bird or injured creature that found it's way on my front porch that I was nursing back to health at the time. The rules were if they had the animals they had to take care of them or the animals were going. Now I just have about 7 aquariums with a betta fish in each one of them.

I have a few cats that love to jump up with me in bed and lie underneath the covers. They're pretty spoiled!
