OMG Where do we start? I wish we had as may words for love as the French do. Love for a child, love for our parents, love for a friend, love for a lover, love of art? I really think we should use the word passion more.

What a great question. I can think of several types of love; there is the love you feel for your mate, and then there is the love for your children, and your parents, and your best friend. They are all different and connect to you in different ways. Our course if you are a Christian there is God''s love, called Agape Love.

5. I should explain. Love, as in I love pizza and I love my car. Lust, as in damn I love you (when I'm horny). Convenience, as in its a hell of a lot better than being alone (for now). Comfort, as in I have a good life and you know what I like so its all good (for now). True Love, which is an undying condition to which most strive to find, the rapid heartbeat, goosebumps, knowing wht the other is thinking, a feeling of loss every time that person leaves your side where a breif moment apart feels like an eternity.
I prefer to stick to the rules of keeping it real. I love you,,,,like pizza.

The ancient Greeks distinguished three common ones:
Eros - romantic, sexual love Philia - friendship, loyalty Agape - selfless, sacrificial love
There's a fourth one that apparently was rarely used: Storge - familial affection

There's the love one has for one's family There's the love on has for one's friends There's the love we have for a pet There's the love we have as a parent There's the love of music, books, art, film and theatre There's the love of our country or a place There's the love of a nice surprise There's the love of a special someone There's love of oneself If you are religious there is the love of God I could go on but in reality there is one love that we share it's just to different degrees.

I believe love is one big gray area. Think of the game "SIMS". Do something wrong, feelings start to ebb. Eventually if enough things go wrong, that love can easily become hate.
