John Hughes (1950-2009) passed away today. He was the maker of such films as Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, St. Elmos Fire, Weird Science, Pretty in Pink, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, and the Home Alone movies. He launched movie careers of Molly Ringwald, Ally Sheedy, Emelio Estevez, Judd Nelson, Anthony Michael Hall, Demi Moore, Charlie Sheen, and Rob Lowe with these films. These actors were given the name "Brat Pack".

I was a huge fan of his movies. Hughes will be missed!

That's sad. I loved his movies. Breakfast Club was one of my favorites.
