Girl Friends posted 12/13/2006 8:46:28 PM | 2 kudos what's this?     report abuse   sundance64 I've been on this site for a while now and have met some of the coolest and sweetest people I could ever hope to meet. During the time I've been here...I've made some 'girl friends'...women friends who I can talk to and be open with. I don't have too many of those. I guess one of the reasons for that is because I don't click with too many women on a personal level. However...some of the women I have clicked with have ended up here! Kinda tells you something...right? Remember Charlie? She was here awhile ago...no, she didn't stay long...but that was for personal reasons and not because she didn't enjoy the site. TLC...her and I were stationed together in the Air Force. Now...back then I wouldn't say we were 'girl friends'. We worked together and each had a group of friends that sometimes overlapped. When we worked the same shift...we often partied together after work. But a couple of years ago...we caught up with each other thru a yahoo group and developed a friendship. She's so much fun!! Now PrincessKitty is one of the few people I'm still in contact with who knew me as a drunk. We've known each other since 1st grade...went to the same schools, the same church, grew up in the same part of Detroit. When I left to go overseas we kept in contact with each other the whole time. She knew my ex-husband...and my more recent ex-boyfriend. And can attest to the fact that they were both assholes! It's kind of funny having these people on this site with me...not that I mind! But I've mentioned before that it's sometimes hard to separate my online friends from my reallife friends. Having them here makes that unnesessary. My friends are my friends...whether I see them face to face or only talk to them on the phone and send emails. I only mention these three because I do know them off-line. My girlfriends here onsite know who they are... Because my girlfriends are so few and far between...I cherish thier friendship all the more. Thanks ladies...for being my friends! 	Hey, you are one to talk about good girl friends: I can count on you to pick me up when I'm down and kick my ass when I'm being one...Whoever says real friendships and relationships can't come from being online never met you (or me!), or ponme, or Belle, or Giggl, or, or, or...the list goes on and on!!! Just look at my friends list - real people with real hearts and awesome brains. Thank YOU for bringing more good ladies to the site - and for being the good friend that you are to all of us! You rock! (we need a Girl Power emoticon!)
