Festival Season - Inexpensive Dates

It is Festival season in my area, and a real blessing for those of us who are financialy challenged right now, but want to do things. The larger nearby city of Syracuse has lots going on. Last weekend I had to choose between a Wine & Jazz Festival (music free, drinks & food cost), a Ukrainian Festival (entertainment free, food & drinks cost), an Arts & Crafts Festival (cost nothing to look), an Antique Fest ($6 entry), a Harbor fest (music & fireworks free) and several festivals that were fundraisers with a modest fee.

In my own hometown which is much smaller there are still smaller venues with free entertainment. Thursday night was a free country concert on the courthouse lawn. Friday night was a free concert and show (music and dancers) with a 12 piece latin band out of Philidelphia.

There is so much going on this time of year, that is free or almost free. Entertainment is everywhere...you just have to look for it. Parks, libraries, community groups are all trying to provide alternatives. And as soon as I can find an available woman they are even cost-effective dating opportunities.

What is going on in your town or your area? What opportunities are there for you to do things with someone, an old-fashioned date, that won't break the bank?

Our festivities tend to be in the spring and fall as it is normally too damned hot around here in the summer for such things. But it is only in the high eighties today and it rained. That makes it a good day!! How was Savoy Brown?

Ours are mostly in the fall and spring too. They do have free concerts once in a while though. Not a lot of things are free here though as you have to pay something for food and drink at all the festivals here. The military has money so there are very few freebies.

Inexpensive Dates
Hell I would just like a date..........

We usually have a lot going on here from the 4th of July up into early September and there are lots of things to do..............we had a centennial celebration in town this weekend with street dances, fireworks (which were set up a half a block from my house and scared the hell out of us cause we didn't know they were going to do it lol) parades..........I didn't however get a chance to go up to see them because of my limitation on how far I can walk..............but it was nice to shut the tv off and just listen to the music for a while............I don't think a date has to cost people a lot of money.........some of the best dates I have had were doing simply things at no cost..........its who you are with that counts not how much is spent.

I'm seeing a north/south divide...I guess our summer is so short we need to pack in as much as possible outside befor the winter starts...in september or october, lol.

We have had all of our...Festivals... Except for a Wine fest.... and that's $20.00 + a Head !!

Can't hardly beat a picnic and listening to music in the park...

Another thing to look for that I personally think is fun...in high school, my boyfriend and I had a standing date every Thursday night to go listen to the college jazz band practice/put on a mini concert. We always enjoyed it. So, check out what the local college and high schools have going on...

Thats it Horsyman..........we are going to have to get together and enjoy those fine inexpensive festivals while everyone from the south stays inside out of the heat........
