alright, i will answer this. I use to think it was lust at first site. but now, yes it can happen. when you have been out on dates & talked to people but then you meet that one person who all you do is think of their well being, what are they doing every moment of every day. I do believe there is love at first site.

For me, it definitely takes a while and once I do fall in love, it's gets stronger over time and the longer I am with that person.

I don't believe in love at first sight. I believe in infatuation at first sight that can sometimes lead to loving and being in love. Once you get to know each other.
But real love takes time to actually know that person and who they really are.
How long? That depends on the people involved and the circumstances.
Darn, Alex, it's a shame you're not at least in lust.....

There is attraction at first sight, but long term love is not an emotion, it is a decision you make every day. When people stop making that decision,for whatever reason, that love ends.

I don't think it takes long at all to think you are in love. True love is pretty rare, if there is such a thing. People seem to settle into a mutually satisfying relationships, and make it work. Half of married couples get divorced and the other half manage to stay together somehow. I think I may have been in love, but maybe it was only long term lust. I can not have pure lust without caring about the other person.

Forgot to add that dating sucks. Dating was invented by women to get free stuff from as many men as possible. Even that word makes me almost puke.

Here's a test for you - take it for what it's worth:
After dating for awhile, ask yourself how much of the "love" you would feel if the person were physically unnattractive, but otherwise exactly the same.
The results may be rather sobering, and could serve as a bellweather for the future of that relationship.
