Since being back on here I have seen so many blogs by many different people. The topics range daily. Some days there is drama and arguing, others it is sad or depressing, and some are funny. Others are very personal about someone's life. Of course we can't leave out the ones begging for attention, or the look at me blogs. The nasty ones, the ones saying hey call me or email me and even ones that make not one ounce of sense.
So how far do you think blogs should or shouldn't go as far as personal things. Our daily lives, our secrets and more. Why and why not?
I have to admit I enjoy reading real things about people on here but love the jokes and more to. For me it is like getting to know someone and either relating to them in some way or just going, ok I can understand where they are coming from and feel for them and the issue at hand or the problem. Do any of you feel that way? For me the only time I feel blogs go to far is when for instance I won't use the name cause I forget the name but the ones about incest and so forth. I feel that stuff is going to far. But real life issues? I don't see a problem personally about getting opinions or advice from others. I think sometimes it helps you see things you don't normally see when someone from the outside is saying, hey you missed this or this and look at it this way or try this.
Is any subject on here to personal for you or anything you feel or think should not be revealed to strangers on the net? My only issue would be getting slammed and put down for talking about an issue that is either important to you or a serious problem.
I am probally not making much sense but oh well. Used to that one. Last statement from me on this is I think sometimes talking to a complete stranger helps you in some ways. Maybe I am wrong but JMO.
Any thoughts?

i enjoy women writing porno actually from real life experiences. i was born and lived most of my life in x rated calipornia. what the world be if you couldn't cuss, get angry. its a show business town los angeles, ca. and surroundings. its pretty anti-censorship. i don't like horror or stories like that. stories about tax evasion and getting caught for it are kinda ironic. the rich powerful and famous, brought to size. the crooks get their comeuppance and stuff. the guy who stole everyone's woman, getting his penis ripped off or something? justice type stories. that is a just and fair world after all, and they aren't gettin away with it. and that true love does exist. its not just a fairy tale.

I think everyone has the right to write anything they want to...............just as its everyone's right to ignore those they want to............not everything is going to be everyone's cup of tea.................but i think there is a little of something for everyone.......

Everybody can post what they want. The thing that I get tired of is people posting things they get in private email. Sometimes it is a joke and somebody else already got it in their email and posted it. But that doesn't happen as much any more.
But the irritating ones are these stories passed off as being true that aren't. Here is a post that details this issue.

I think you're right about blogs here being a way for people to get to know each other...which is why I don't mond some of the really wierd or poor, poor pitiful me blogs. I know that I don't want to read the next thing that person writes. The blogs and forums are the reason many people are here. And as far as I'm concerned, since this is a "sex site", the erotic ones are more fun for me than some of the "reality" ones. Just me. The good news is that there is something for everyone.
And I KNEW Whapper believed in true love, I KNEW it.

A few questions to consider here. Untrue things and true things of course. When it comes to a persons real life though you can't say true or non true unless you have proof or they admit to lieing or you catch them in a lie. Correct? How do you feel about people opening up about something so personal for instance something they won't even tell thier own families? Or something not as deep but they feel more comfortable talking with strangers then loved ones?
For instance, depression, drugs, sex problems, children, family trouble, financial problems, alcoholism, abuse , rape, emotional problems, death, and the list can go on here. There are so many levels of personal and what is to much and what isn't.
In all honesty who is the first person to say " hey your a bad person for this or even posting this "? Do you judge people by what they post when it is a very personal problem they wish to discuss? Do you put them down for it or just ignore them? What if someone is asking for advice or help with a problem? How far are you willing to go to be nice and help them or give good advice without hurting thier feelings? Not talking about posts like the sex with her father thing. I mean REAL problems here not make believe crap.

BTW .. This is not a blog to upset anyone , piss anyone off or hurt anyone's feelings. This is also not to judge anyone for anything they blog and not to put down anyone who does. Please don't take it that way. This is not in anyway to offend anyone or meant towards a specific person either. I have reasons I am asking but won't say untill I see the replies. Thanks.

Opinions are like assholes.....everyone has one and they usually stink. In answer to your question...........I may make suggestions but I try not to give advice.......notice i did say try............every person is different and every situation is different.............how one person may respond is not necessarily how others will..............do I answer everyones blog that asks for advice.........no........if i don't feel I have something to add..........I don't try...................like the blog the other day about the girl who found out her boyfriend was engaged and wanted to tell the fiance' ...........I didn't comment on that because one........i thought there were some good suggestions...........and two........I have never been in that situation so what could i possible offer..................
I try not to judge anyone for the blogs they write but sometimes thats really hard not to do.............and those are some of the ones i don't post on.................but most of the time............and i say most of the time.........if i don't have anything to add I just don't post on it...........

One, I try to avoid over-reacting to anything anyone says around here...you never know if it's real, if they are real, or if you have misinterpreted what they said.
Two, if someone needs a place to unburden themselves, why not here? None of us judge, right? Besides, even if someone here judges you, who cares?
Three, if you come here to share things you can;t share with your family, you might need more help than this forum can offer.

A blog is a blog is a blog. There is no such thing as too far. The point is to talk about whatever is on your mind, regardless the topic. IMHO

The only things that are really taking things too far, in my opinion, are personal attacks.

Really...
Like how everyone ignored that incest blog? How about torture, rape, bestiality, pedophiles and spousal abuse?
Reality check, folks....
Is any subject on here to personal for you or anything you feel or think should not be revealed to strangers on the net? Personally...I reveal what I want to reveal about myself, when I want to reveal it. A blog crosses that particular line, I do not participate. And anyone who does...has no right to cry later, no one made them type it out.
Just my nickel.
And I agree with WoW....if a story seems too good to be true, or perhaps just a tad too "golden," check the sources. Snopes.com or ask.com or just a simple google of a sentence will reveal if its a fake. Never promote bullshit, no matter how good it smells.

The only things that are really taking things too far, in my opinion, are personal attacks. I was going to say pretty much the same thing...also blanket attacks (we had a few of those in some recent 'political' blogs and also from a troll over the weekend). I do get tired of the blogs where people whine about other people not having the right to be here because they aren't here for the same reason the blogger is (i.e. whining because people are married, aren't ready to lie on their back and throw their legs in the air, etc.). I skip what I don't want to bother with usually. But, yeah, I'm human. You'll find me occasionally whining about stuff too. I try to keep it at a minimum however.

Personally, I don't think too much can be taboo on this site. As previously stated, if you don't care for what you see don't read it. It's very simple.
[QUOTE ... if you come here to share things you can't share with your family, you might need more help than this forum can offer.[/quote]I don't disagree with this, but sometimes folks can't afford a shrink, counselor or have a friend/family member they trust to tell their inner most secrets or problems. Even if we can't help someone overtly, we can lend an ear and listen. Many times this is all that's needed to help a person figure out what they need to do or not do.
Taisen, I'm slidin' ya a green alien thingie... I think your question is valid and thought provoking which reminds us all to think about what is and isn't important to ourselves and one another.

I'm with Dione on this one, sometimes I just need someone to listen to me, doesn't matter who it is, just someone. I need to know that I've reached out to someone and they've gotten what I said. A little adult convo, as it were.
If anyone asks for my opinion, I'm more than willing to give it, it might not be the one they want to hear, but dammit they asked for it. lol I try my best to give advice with a tendered ear, but sometimes it just doesn't happen that way. If it's a duck, then I call it a duck, if it's a dumbass, well then, it's a dumbass. I just hope when it's my turn to ask for advice someone will be that blunt and forward to me. (reminds myself to always ask Dayna or DMB for advice, maybe Skwirl, if she's in a good mood.) lol

We do have a responsibility to report blogs that are beyond the law. Such as Paedophiles, Incest and or Beastiality. That's our job..we have to learn to police ourselves as well.. however.. on the whole any blog that's not breaking a law is ok.. we don't have to read them.

I actually got to know a few people on here by commenting on blogs and forums. It is true that you can get an insight into a person just by reading the things they have written but you only really get to know a person by communicating with them. Luckily I found my partner here and we married last year, it's not all wine and roses (both of which Crissy hates) but we firmly believe that when the time is right we will be able to live our lives and share each and every experience that the days may bring. The kind of people that want to pick fights are probably the kind who are lacking in social skills, have low IQ's or just love to cause trouble because they have nothing worth talking about. So long as you are not intentionally trying to hurt anyone or breaking the terms and conditions of this site you should be able to write whatever you choose. As has been said elsewhere though, if you find something you find offensive then you can report it, otherwise you don't have to read it.
