For those who know me, know I'm not real big on prayers... not quite sure if I believe they work... but in this case, I'm doing some praying of my own.. My friend is sick! She was once vivacious and very VERY beautiful... and she's still beautiful... she was diagnosed with Dermatomyositis and it has become very debilitating for her. She's lost a hundred pounds plus in the last year and 14 pounds in the last two weeks alone... the muscles in the throat have stopped working and she has to had a feeding tube put in her stomach tomorrow. She is aspirating on her food and her own saliva....she runs a great risk of developing aspiration pnuemonia if she continues to try to eat.
I know you don't know her but if you could just say a little something to the guy upstairs I would really appreciate it! You are a great bunch of people on this site and a caring group of people! I know I can rely on you guys!

Well, I don't think I have ever said it openly on here, but...I don't pray anymore. My convictions have changed.
However, my belief is in positive energies. And I believe that if enough people get together and direct enough good thoughts ( aka, positive energies ) things happen.
You most definitely have mine for your friend.

She had the procedure today. She wasn't sedated because her surgeon feared she wouldn't come out of it. They did give her a local and she said it wasn't too bad until they got inside and puncture her stomach. She said it was excrutiating! Home health came out today to show her and her husband how to feed her, so to speak. She will pretty much consist on 4-5 Ensure drinks a day. And she's sooooo hungry!
They don't even want her to try to drink water or anything...
But like the beautiful and inspiring person she is, she still tried to have a sense of humor on the phone today, she made me laugh! I miss her laugh! it'll be back tho!! guaranteed!
