There seems to be a lot of memories floating around blog-land today. I had one when I saw that blues legend Koko Taylor had passed away.

I had recently "discovered" the blues and was attending a conference in Chicago. One night I went to Buddy Guy's club Legends for open mike night. The next night I went to another club that I believe was Koko's. It was also open mike night and she happened to be there. They got her up and she blew the roof off the place. I was hooked.

Thanks Koko, for all the joy and tears you brought to so many. RIP
