Earlier this evening while walking to soccer practice with my daughter (turned 9 last Sat.) I was getting a usual line of questioning. Then after explaining to her how to figure out when she'll be 9 and a 1/2 she squeezed my hand and stopped, looked up into my eyes and said "Daddy, I like talking to you". My reply, "I like talking to you too, honey. She came back with "No dad, I really like talking to you". About 20 steps later I had to explain that my eyes always water when it's chilly out
It's moments like that which makes it so much fun.
