How many of you been watching General Hospital since the early 1980's with the hey days of Luke and Laura? Well, there was a time when Luke and Holly were an item (1982) before she married Robert Scorpio in 1983. Now there's a storyline coming up where this new guy named "Ethan" is the love child of Luke and Holly. Should be interesting since Emma Samma (Holly) will be returning to the show for May sweeps. I was hoping that this Ethan guy was going to end up being the love child of Robert and Holly instead.
For all of you General Hospital fans on here, which would you rather see Ethan belonging to, Luke or Robert?

I suspect you are the only guy who watches it. There may be other guys that do, but I doubt that they are straight. That is so fucking gay!

Like I stated to you before (and we can keep going back and forth on this), General Hospital back in the 80's was the thing to watch among so many people. It was "the show" to watch, especially back in the early 80's. Even a lot of us straight guys got caught up into the Luke and Laura adventures on General Hospital. Not a very popular soap today (all soaps suck today according to the ratings).

Even a lot of us straight guys got caught up into the Luke and Laura adventures Oh really, I don't recall any. You are the only guy I have ever known, gay or straight, that admitted to watching soaps. Well, we will find out who "us" is concerning guys commenting on this. I rest my case knowing in advance what will transpire.

Bruce, it was a common thing at the time. I seriously doubt that any guy that watched it long ago will even admit to it on here (this blog) today. More women these days watch all the soaps in todays world. But there are still some of us men that remember the good ole' days of General Hospital that watching that show today is like watching an empty shell of it. A lot of us have either moved on or watch bits and pieces of it whenever someone makes a blast from the past comes back for short period of time.

I remember Luke and Laura. When I was in college they had a large screen TV in the student center, but it was always on the same channel. This was before 1980, so cable wasn't an option, and as Straddle said, General Hospital was THE thing (among the women, anyway...). Unless you wanted to sit alone in silence, you had to sit and put up with the shit.
I never saw so many coeds excited by a cheezy plotline and thin storyline!

xquseme, now for the sake of debate with straddle, let me know if I get this right. You didn't watch that crap, you just commented on it being on all the time in student center in college for the girls, correct? Now, in the student center, how many guys as a percentage were actually watching it? Hell, I have watched it, while waiting in a doctor's office. I did request that they put on CNN instead.

The same channel was always on...Both men and women were in the viewing area.... Hell, I forget if I was meeting my gf at the time, waiting for a bus, or whatever! My choice was studying calculus or watching the tube.
I've never been a fan of soap operas, but it was funny to watch the fuss that went on over that show....
Yeah, that's it...!!

Wow...that seems so long ago!...HA! it was! My Mom wouldn't let me watch soaps. She monitored our tv time. She thought soaps were watched by trashy people and maids. She also felt that the sex and violence and argumentative behavior on these shows wasn't healthy for growing minds, I didn't care beause I was always busy playing outside or participating in sports or dance class or piano lessons. needless to say peer pressure set in when I went to college. We all used to sit in the common area of the dorm rooms and watch General Hospital. The luke and laura sindrome was contagious. I still really didn't care. In my mind as it was in my Mothers it ws a waste of time and was meant for people who needed to live vicariously through others because their lives weren't exciting enough. I still am not a soap fan, but in this day and age even X flies has some sort of on going plot that you have to keep up with. I guess alot of shows are that way. I would think this would constitute it being a "soap" of sorts...so maybe I do watch soaps now! HA!....too much info...just had to babble!

I don't think I have watched that soap since "82".
I use to watch "Days of our Lives", but haven't watched that one for about 4 years now.
