I know Micheal Jackson comes off as a joke today, but remember at one time when he was actually the king of pop? He had some pretty good songs back in the early 80's. Of course some of the younger generation will always look puzzled at us to wonder why we like his songs from years ago. Unless you were growing up in your teens and at that time anyone that was really into music will understand why such songs and video such as Thriller will always be one of the best songs and videos. How many people out there actually like the song and video of Thriller?
Or, what is your best song by Micheal Jackson?

My Michael Jackson preferences go way back to the days when he was singing with his brothers. *GASP!* I even have their Soulsation CD collection. Anyone willing to admit to watching their cartoon?

As for the 80s songs, I think I liked Bad only because I loved Weird Al's parody of it so much. Which, I guess is saying I really wasn't all that impressed by Bad...

I loved his dancing but not usually his songs except maybe his rendition of Longer (originally by Dan Fogelberg).

If you wanna make the world a better place, take a look at yourself and make a change!

~Man in the Mirror

Just as my my son was teased when he was a kid for his love and appreciation of Elvis Presley, my daughter has been teased for being a Michael Jackson fan. Regardless of what either did in their lives, it will never take away the fact that their music - and moves - had an affect on the world, and that both were outstanding performers!

I'm with Sunny-D - "Ben" is in my top 3 MJ songs, along with "Will You Be There" (the theme to Free Willy)...but "Man in the Mirror" is ultimately my favorite MJ song. And yep, I have all of them and still play them! :)

I think think the bloke is well and truly screwed up now but in his prime he was great if you don't look at the person he's become but look at the person he was you can completely appreciate him for his music.

He may be a mess now but unfortunately the price he paid for his talent was the loss of his childhood, from an early age he had a lot of responsibility on him to perform and couldn't do the things other kids his age were allowed to do.

I remember watching thriller as a kid and absolutely loving it still do although the effects are outdated lol.

I still really enjoy some of Michael's music. I do have do say that some of the old school shit is better than some of the junk music that they put out today to make money.

"BillyJean". would probably be the one for me IF we're talkin 80's partly due to my backround as a drummer....but...for a ballad....''I'll Be There''...in the 60's was it...

Thriller was the shit I remember when they released the video on MTV I was all happy and anticipating it. It was great...sucks that ol' MJ has had all these problems. Remember Man in The Mirror? that was good one too....and don't forget Billie Jean I agree that MJ was the King Of Pop no doubt and I still have yet to see anyone who can dance as good as he can

I always like beat it. Eddie Van Halen did some some cool stuff on that track.

I hate to admit it now, but I rocked out to MJ back in the day. I also rocked out to Milli Vanilli, too. Who'd a thunk it?

Hey, Milli Vanilli was good (Blame it on the rain that was fallin', fallin') Still listen to it!

And yes, uhohs, MJ is an awesome dancer - but have you seen Usher go??? The boy can DANCE! And yes, MJ was one of his greatest influences...see, he wasn't THAT bad if he can inspire others to be great performers!

MJ is just a dancing/musical genius. I watched the Thriller video again on YouTube and am still blown away by his dance moves.

I've had MJ on the brain all day; my favorite MJ video is Black or White...it's a classic if you ask me :)

Yes, Black and White was his last big hit back in 1992. Great song and video too.

When I was ten, I had a Michael Jackson purse, tee shirts, all that jazz...
I used to tell my parents I wanted to marry him.

Sad part was, at that time, I was just right for him.
