No "Special" Occasion Other Than JUST Because... posted 3/2/2009 3:05:28 AM | 3 kudos what's this?     report abuse   casuallylooking Earlier this evening I was doing a little bit of packing and among the things that I started to pack was my good china. I took it all out of the cupboard and washed and dried it before I started wrapping any of it, (even though I will wash it again before I put it away) because it does collect dust even in a cupboard when it's not being used AND sometimes I am quite anal about certain things..lol While I was doing this I wondered why I don't seem to use it anymore. I used to set the table with it often. Even if it were just me and my daughter or grand daughter for that meal. I am not a person who thinks good china should only be used for special occasions. I think it should just be used sometimes for special people. And anyone I invite to my dinner table is special to me. Isn't it strange the things we keep tucked away, even from ourselves, until the right person or people are there to make use of them? Like the good china..... our pretttiest panties or sexy lingerie... the candles that smell so nice but are tucked away in a drawer to be hopefully shared ... a special recipe or the stemmed glassware.. that certain cologne/perfume/body lotion, pretty linens...etc. Why do we do that? Don't we think we are special enough to be able to use those things just for ourselves? Why don't we just share some of those things with friends of family that we see often? Do you have things that you only use for "special" occasions.. holidays... or for certain people? If so.......Why? Is it out of habit, tradition, you just don't think about it, or what? 	Good question!! I've wondered that myself! Maybe because sometimes, life getsin the way and we get too busy to make ourselves feel special or others in our lives feel special... life is too short and there's no reason NOT to use them!! You've just motivated me to use mine! Thanks!!

	I don't have anything that I keep for special occasions. I have some very nice stuff but I don't designate it only for holidays. Life is too short not to enjoy the good things in life. Besides there isn't anything wrong with hot dogs on china.

	when i want to feel sexxy , i put on sexy under things.... i think is the mood or the times ...we choose to use things we put away . I use most of my stuff daily or at least weekly ... i do love to put on sexxy perfume daily ...just to make me feel good . Great Blog CL Ynot ....what about me ....

	I think it's because you don't want to run out of them like with perfume. Or the china, you don't want to dull the pattern on it washing it constantly. You want to keep them around as long as possible & if you use them all the time they won't last as long. jmo.

	Nice Blog Casual. I think what Cootie said...but ya might as well go ahead and use the pretty stuff that makes you feel good on a regualr basis. If you save it, it might be you get hit by a truck and then it would all be in vane...jmtoi

I agree! Do you have things that you only use for "special" occasions.. holidays... or for certain people? I think I use to do this, but no longer do I continue this. I have most if not all of my best stuff out to use for any occasion.
