Not a culture, but it is "in vogue". Middle-class and upper middle-class white kids from the suburbs in their derelict fashion, slumming it on the poorer sides of town..its pretty much an insult to those who have been impoverished all their lives. They know at the end of the day they won't have to worry about struggling, but give them a month in the life and they'd go crying home to their mommies.

Based upon the definition, I would say yes.

culture |'k?l ch ?r|
1 the arts and other manifestations of human intellectual achievement regarded collectively : 20th century popular culture.
• a refined understanding or appreciation of this : men of culture.
• the customs, arts, social institutions, and achievements of a particular nation, people, or other social group : Caribbean culture | people from many different cultures.
• [with adj. ] the attitudes and behavior characteristic of a particular social group : the emerging drug culture.
2 Biology the cultivation of bacteria, tissue cells, etc., in an artificial medium containing nutrients : the cells proliferate readily in culture.
• a preparation of cells obtained in such a way : the bacterium was isolated in two blood cultures.
• the cultivation of plants : this variety of lettuce is popular for its ease of culture.
verb [ trans. ] Biology
maintain (tissue cells, bacteria, etc.) in conditions suitable for growth.
ORIGIN Middle English (denoting a cultivated piece of land): the noun from French culture or directly from Latin cultura ‘growing, cultivation’ ; the verb from obsolete French culturer or medieval Latin culturare, both based on Latin colere ‘tend, cultivate’ (see cultivate ). In late Middle English the sense was [cultivation of the soil] and from this (early 16th cent.) arose [cultivation (of the mind, faculties, or manners)] ; sense 1 dates from the early 19th cent.

Luna, I've met people from all walks of life but I've never met a rich kid- only rich parents. When kids grow up and move out on their own, they can't always magically inherit a shiny new home in their parents' neighborhood- sometimes they have to start out in poorer neighborhoods where the rent is cheap. So sorry if there happens to be some white kids in the ghetto who might not have grown up there, but I don't see how complaining about that is any different than rich white people complaining that there are newly rich black people moving into their neighborhood. Can't people just live where they want, and where they can afford?

Actually,I was speaking of the rich LA/NY upper crust trust-fund babies who do that. Not exactly normal,20-somethings who are on their own...kinda forgot to mention that, sorry.

Most liberals seem to think it is. But I say it's not!

Well being wealthy carries with it a sense of culture on its own. By that logic, there has to be something cultural to being poor. A certain sense of values, a different set of mannerisms and more acceptance for the vulgar and profound.
