 I talked with my daughter two nights ago and she told me that some doctors checked Alex's eyes and have determind that he's blind. She also told me that it was best if they sewed his eyes shut to prevent any infections with having them form in his eyes that can later turn into holes in his eyes. She decided not to go that route. She instead is taping his eyes shut for the most part and using ointment in his eyes. Alex is growing, and doing very well otherwise. I thought that I would let everyone know what the latest is with Alex. I have been a little busy as of late as far as coming on here, and then dealing with the news with Alex being blind....well, I'm trying hard not to dwell on that. We're still not sure about the extent of his brain damage. Megan (Sunshine79) did give me a call last night and I briefly told her about this, but I think she knew that I didn't want her to say anything to anyone on here about Alex until I had a chance to come on here share this with everyone myself. I want to also thank everyone for the prayers and thoughts sent his way over the past year. Both Tash and I with our famly greatly appreciates them.

That just breaks my heart for him and all of you. What a blow this news must've been. As you can see, your AMD friends are still praying for your family and I'm sure we will all continue to do so. Keep the faith hun....miracles still happen.

I am so sorry to hear that Shawn. It just doesn't seem right that that little guy will have to face the rest of his life and not be able to see you, his Mom and everyone else that loves him. It just brings tears to my eyes. I would like to have just 10 minutes with the S. O. B. that did this to him. Alex will definitely stay in my prayers.

Damn Shawn I was really hoping he would be improving. I'm so sorry to hear this news. I do know that blind people can live full and fulfilling lives. I just hope that this is the worst news that you get concerning the little guy. My prayers are still with you, Alex, and Tash.
